Spectrum Thrift Store is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the skills and opportunities for teens and young adults with autism and developmental delays. Since its opening in July 2017, the store has offered training and employment to over 180 individuals, helping them gain valuable experiences in a supportive environment. Customers appreciate the clean and organized layout of the store, along with the friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to assist shoppers. However, there are mixed reviews regarding pricing, with some customers feeling that the prices are too high compared to typical thrift store standards. Many express disappointment that items are priced similarly to retail or even eBay listings, which undermines the thrift store experience. While some find great deals on craft supplies, others are frustrated by the prices of clothing and used goods that feel excessive. Despite the pricing complaints, many visitors are drawn to the mission of the store and the positive impact it has on the community. Overall, Spectrum Thrift Store strives to provide a unique shopping experience while supporting individuals with special needs, creating a space where customers can find a variety of items from clothing to home goods.
Good thrift store all the proceeds go to funding programs for autistic people. And as an autistic people I appreciate that.
April 2024
Prices are just too high. $40 for levi jeans, $20 for under armour pants, $12, $20 shirts. $125 for a golf club set. I like the store but this is the most expensive thrift store around. Price things lower to make more sales.
