I just adopted cat yesterday, and the experience was excellent. The stuff was friendly and made the process easy, and my new fur baby is living her best life! So, I just wanted to thank you!

Very poor experience.. you would expect the staff to want to make sure the dog could have a safe home… after finding a dog “free adoption” (which we weren’t looking for) we get back to office they then let us kno it was 100 he could not be taken home due to health problems he just had surgery today and none of that was mentioned.. they tried to push a older / mixed pitbull breed on us with that being the one thing that was said to them.. very foul smell all thru the office and kennels pee in their kennels with them no blankets just cold hard ground. Thinking we would take a happy dog home and give him a good life is not what these people are after they are money hungry. Feel so bad for the dogs and can only I gone what happens with closed doors..

We had a wonderful experience, and they rescheduled to get our dog in sooner because she needed surgery.

Front desk employees are a little too cold shoulder for me. They aren't very social or friendly. Maybe working at a place like this does that to you.

I just read that y’all put down an older dog within 24 hours. Isn’t yalls policy 3 days? The owner is devastated. I really hope there’s more to the story than y’all just killing a dog before the owner had a chance to get him back. Shame on you. I hope y’all get yalls karma if it’s true.

Far away from downtown Jax and hard to get to if you take a bus. They rarely answer the phone but will call you back, usually after 5pm and will leave a VM. Was looking for my missing Goldendoodle, they do require proof of ownership and found dog wasn't mine. Considered adopting as they have great looking pets/ breeds but this shelter seems to make things difficult and the location is not convenient for me. If you are closer than me or have a car, check them out and let me know how it goes!! Thanks!!!

Got our dog willie here, he is the sweetest thing in the whole world. He was extremely scared of everything when he was in the kennel but as soon as he got in our car he became the most sweet loving dog I've ever met and he's extremely excited to be with us. big thank you to the staff who were amazing in helping us find him.

Very helpful when I dropped off a stray dog. They discovered a chip and called the family as I was leaving.

Always claim to be full and want 50$ to give up an animal, they give you a list of shelters far off in other cities instead of the great local shelters already in clay county that do it better then clay county animal services.Unless its along the way for you to try and adopt an animal, it's just not worth going out of your way to this place.

If I could I would rate 0 stars. We adopted a kitten from here, had her for a week when she scratched me on my leg. A couple days later Im completely covered in ringworm. 44 lesions over my whole body. I take the kitten back and ask them to check her for ringworm. They told me I could have gotten it from anywhere. Their cats are clean before being put up for adoption. I tell them it started from the scratch. They unwillingly take her back to get checked and come back quickly and apologetically saying they don't know how this happened. Meanwhile I have to throw away everything we just bought and decontaminate my entire house. It was extremely expensive. I missed work etc. Then our dog got it. My boyfriend got it too a couple weeks later. Had to decontaminate again about 4 times total it was HELL because of their mistake. I tried to treat the cat at home but when the dog got it I took her back. They reluctantly agreed to treat her there and give her back when she was cleared of the ringworm since I now have to isolate and treat my dog as well. A week later I get a call to tell me that they missed the fact that she has FIP, a deadly unteatable and highly contagious cat disease. And instead of getting a call to pick her up I had to give permission to put the kitten we just adopted down. On top of it had to worry about my other cats catching it and dying as well. Thankfully they are ok but this could have been an even MORE awful situation then what I already went thru. Skip forward. A few months later I found a puppy on the side of the road. I rescued her and tried to find owner with no luck. I email this place they tell me on Monday to bring her in tuesday-saturday this week between 11-3. I show up on Wednesday at 2pm for them to tell me they are closed!!!!! I drove all the way out there for no reason. Like every one else said I even tried calling first but no one answers the goddam phone or calls back. WORST multiple experiences I've ever had from one place. NEGATIVE stars for me
