We are in the area for the winter. Our (18 year old) cat was declining. We called Animal Medical Center and were able to get in quickly. The staff was very knowledgeable and compassionate. After seeing test results, they took the time to talk about our options, gave us time alone so we could make our own decision, with no judgement from them. A real comfort being so far from home. Thanks again to the Dr. and especially the staff. From Michigan

I just got my cat put down there and they scared and traumatized him, came back and said he was actively dying and they wanted to euthanize him in the back when we said no we want to see him as he goes the lady worker rolled her eyes at us while leaving the room, the only good staff was the person who actually put him down she was very fast but the entire process before was unnecessary, that place was horrible and we were there for over an hour for a euthanization and it made the whole thing even worse, they traumatized us and our cat in his final moments

Today we took our sweet baby kitty into the vet know we would be euthanizing him, he had cancer and his breathing was awful, and his body temp was at 90° and his blood pressure was very low. We brought him in and the vet knew all these things but insisted that we try to do a catheter iv, in him, out of the room. So they take him intot he back and the iv isn’t working because he has barely any blood pressure, and they were freaking him out the entire process we could hear him crying, and then a vet comes in about 20 min later and said that they want to euthanize him in the back, because he was spitting up fluid and barely breathing (which kitty was not like that when they brought him back)when we said no we want to see him go, she rolled her eyes and slammed the door when she left, then about a minute later the actual doctor brought kitty back and put him to sleep in less then a minute. I don’t know why they had to traumatize him and be rude to us in his last moments. (the nurse that was of color was the one who rolled her eyes and slammed the door).

They couldn't even get an abdominal xray on my dog. They gave her back to me on a choke leash, traumatized and coverd in poop. They didn't even attempt to wash her off, or apologize. The new workers have no experience and the old lady vet is scary rude. Don't waste your time.

Great place for my pets. They almost always get me in within two days and truly care about my animals. Prices are reasonable.

Took 2 senior, ailing babies to be euthanized. Claire Gossett (searching state records cannot find where she is actually licensed!!) said they would insert catheters, overdose on sedative then inject heart stopping meds. Took over 20 minutes in a back room to insert catheters with my poor dogs crying out. Brought them back to exam room, injected Pooki with something pink (NOT THE SEDATIVE PROMISED)causing her to scream in pain & try to bite at the syringe until she expired. Then Claire proceeding to do the same to my other dog, who also screamed in pain til she died. When queried about this horrific treatment, Gossett just said “it’s easier this way! Easier for who, I asked….certainly not my dogs or me. They did not deserve this cruel & inhumane exit from this world? Run, don’t walk away from this place if you value your pets!

Do not go here if you have a hamster. I brought my hamster in because she was bleeding from behind. The vet completely mis-handled her. He took her little "hut" and shook it in the air, upside down to get her out. The poor thing was hanging from it as he shook her out. She was trying to get out of his grip after he assessed her, and instead of putting her down in her cage, he make her squirm around in his hands while she was in discomfort. My husband asked him to put her down and our little hammy was in a complete state of shock after that. Before we brought her in, the only symptom she had was the bleeding - once we brought her home, she was in a state of shock - stopped eating/drinking/burrowing/playing, and then she passed away 3 days later. The clinic said they would call us to follow up and they did not. We were charged over $100 for the visit and some meds and I truly feel that they did not help her whatsoever, if anything, they made her feel worse. Very sad.

My family has used this vet since 2010 give or take and today was absolutely disheartening. A family member of mine was taking my Yorkie in because she has been ill and needed attention/diagnostic work. It was a walk in because we have busy schedules and wanted to see if we could be seen semi quickly. Anyhow, we went in at 12 and the receptionist rudely told them to come back at 2. Went back at 2 and the receptionist became hostile claiming that my family member was “belligerent” and “rude” and stated how they had never seen us before when we’ve been going for YEARS. They made my family member leave and turned us away with our sick dog. Completely unprofessional, even if someone were to be short or rude you have no idea what people go through when family members or pets are sick. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. After all the years at this place we’re leaving and finding a place that cares. For the sake of your fur babies don’t come here.

I am not a particularly articulate or sentimental man. On the other hand, I consider myself an accomplished expert in judging the leadership potential of young people. That being said, there is a young man working as a vet tech at this facility who is an exceptional example of professionalism. His name is Andrew. And any Army recruiter worth his salt should be beating down the door to the Gulf Breeze AMC with an academy scholarship in hand just to entice this young man into service. His chemistry with injured / distressed animals is akin to what you'd expect from the students under the tutelage of Professor X. It's simultaneously amazing and inexplicable. If he's not already on a career track to become a full DVM, something is seriously wrong with our education system. He is a credit to the AMC in specific and the practice of veterinary medicine in general.MOST QUALIFIED. STRONG COMMAND STAFF POTENTIAL. PROMOTE AHEAD OF PEERS.
