Title: Terrible Experience – Defective Product and Zero Customer Service
Review:
I purchased a Philips 5500 coffee machine from this store on August 7, 2025 as a birthday gift for my wife’s 37th birthday. I paid $1,185.45 and kept it in the original box, gift-wrapped, until giving it to her today, August 10, 2025.
She was so excited to open it. On the very first attempt to use the machine, it wouldn’t draw water. We tried multiple times, but it was clearly defective — possibly a manufacturing issue.
I immediately called the store. The first woman who answered barely let me speak, repeatedly saying “hold on,” then transferred me to another woman who spoke to me in a dismissive, condescending way. She told me to “contact the company directly” and claimed the machine was now “used.” Used? This was the first attempt to operate it!
I explained I wanted to return or exchange it, as I have 30 days on the receipt. She rudely told me, “I can’t help you and I don’t care what you think,” then hung up on me. When I called back, the same woman answered again — this time pretending to “try to help” — but still told me to call again tomorrow, as if she was doing me a favor.
Now I’m left chasing my money and dealing with emails and follow-ups — all because of a brand new defective product.
This was an awful experience — both seeing my wife’s disappointment on her special day and realizing I made the mistake of buying from the wrong store. They smile at you when you pay, but the moment you need service, they turn their back. Shame on you.
Rating: 1 star (If zero were possible, I’d give that).

Ask for pump for lotion at register! In the store, I asked why the pumps are separate from the lotion bottles & was told I’d be given one after purchase. However, once I was home (45 min drive) the woman had not provided the pump. This was a gift and I didn’t want the recipient to not have a pump with the lotion. I called to request they mail one to me, four different employees said no, they could not do that. FINALLY, a very kind, professional, employee named Angie said she would mail one to me, no problem. Angie not only mailed one, but three pumps. I appreciated her willingness to accomodate my request, saving me time, gas, and great inconvenience of going back to the store. Thank you, Angie, for making a long time customer feel relieved and valued. Angie went above and beyond at a very hectic time, just ten days before Christmas.

I walked around for over 30 minutes. I had every intention of buying a Vitamix. They saw me standing in front of them for a while yet no one attempted to help me. Guess I didn't look rich enough. Walked out empty handed. I guess someone else will get my business.

I ordered a set of knives in the store because they were out of stock. They requested a payment, which I did. I later decided that I wanted to cancel the order. Here I am 2 weeks later and after at least 6 phone calls waiting for them to refund me. They have held me hostage. Cant believe no one is able to refund a costumer. This is not the industry standard. Will stay away from this store.

Sarah Nanan (associate manager) gave us amazing customer service. She called around to other stores for items that we wanted and went to the back to check for products, the whole 9 yards. Thanks for your help, Sarah!

Truly one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I came in to return a couple items that were gifted to me. I waited almost 15 minutes to be helped by a manager after being told by an associate that I “need to have patience” while I wait. Manager overheard all of this without turning their back to acknowledge me. Finally, someone else came up to address my items without a hello or how can I help you. They finally told me my items weren’t eligible for return anymore and I asked if they could at least give me merchandise credit (this is always the case at other stores when return window is over or you don’t have a receipt). I was met with an apathetic no and no effort in trying to provide me a different resolution. I was a retail manager for many years and you do everything you can to have the customer leave happy. Don’t waste your precious time coming to this store.

They ask for your phone number during check out and have record of what you purchase. Went to return spices since they had mold in them a few weeks later and they said they can’t return them or give me a store credit without a receipt. They have a copy of the receipt in their system but told me they don’t have access to it. Bunch of thieves with mostly overpriced knick-knacks.

Waited 20 minutes for an uninformed worker to finally help me. She knew nothing about the knives I was asking about and was incredibly slow and lacked common sense. She took 15 minutes to find the knife I was asking for, confusing a miyabi and a green pan several times… she concluded finally that they didn’t have my 7in chefs knife in stock and offered a 9in bread knife or a paring knife instead, calling them “this big one” and “this little one”. Incredibly annoyed and will never visit this store again. There are plenty of people seeking work who are much more competent.

The manager of this store is a disgrace. Unfriendly, unprofessional and not willing to help customers. Some of the staff she has working at the store are better suited working for a Burger King drive through in the ghetto. Corporate better come here to clean house and reset this store with good professionals that understand and care about providing customer service. For the amount of money charged at this store, you would expect nothing but A+ service!

One of a few beautiful stores left in Aventura.The store has the best products and provides fun classes. Staff is knowledgeable on products and so helpful. This store makes all holiday seasons just beautiful. Hope they never go away.
