ALL THE STARS to you ! This place is fantastic. Our GTI threw a EPC light / intermittent flashing check engine light last night - super rough running / misfiring especially in first and second gears. We had moved from California to Florida in January and had not yet needed or found an independent garage - I found this company through Yelp this morning. There are twenty-two reviews about Volksmasters on Yelp - ALL of these reviews are five stars but for some reason only two of them are revealed on the front page - the other twenty are hidden. If you're considering this company, please take the time to read all of the hidden reviews too - all of these reviews are stellar and all of them also reflect the same excellent experience we had with Volksmasters today. There is totally a reason that it's rated five stars across the board and that previous customers took the time to share their experiences with this company. Vicky was super nice on the phone when Tim called to find out if they had an open slot where we could bring the car over for them to take a look. She said we could bring it over straightaway and when we got there, she was so friendly and welcoming and then immediately took us outside to the actual workspace to meet Chris, one of the techs. Chris immediately hooked up a code reader and found the P0304 error code we had read earlier this morning - he asked a couple of questions, switched the ignition coil from cylinder 4 to a different cylinder to see if the error code would transfer with the coil - and it did. Fast diagnosis that we had at least one bad ignition coil - which was the best of all possible worlds when you have a turbo and the car starts losing power and jerking around. Vicky jumped online and worked very fast to order the replacement parts they needed in time to make the cutoff time to get them onto the 12pm shipment truck from their local vendor - then she said we were welcome to make ourselves comfortable and wait onsite but also that there was a mall close by within walking distance - that she would text when the parts arrived and that Chris could do the install right away. We walked to the mall and got breakfast at Starbucks and it wasn't long before the text came through from Vicky that they had the parts in hand. Great communication from her and fast work from Chris - by the time we walked back to the garage from the mall, the car was out front all finished and waiting for us. We didn't even know when we called this morning if they'd be jammed up the whole week or whatever - so it was really unexpected and a bonus to be able to bring the car in and especially to have everything finished today. The owner Hank was there with Chris when we returned so we were able to meet him as well. Both of these guys obviously enjoy what they do - they are friendly and it's easy to talk with them. They are honest and their cost and labor rate was extremely fair and especially for such expedited service - it was literally so fast from the time we arrived to the time we were driving away. A VW dealership would have charged astronomical prices for this job and would've maybe not even looked at it today - certainly not immediately right in front of us on the fly like Chris did. A dealership would've charged for diagnostics just to hook up the code reader and might have had to keep the car overnight even for such an easy fix, depending on how many other cars they had in for service . . . . and this is the only car we own. No service advisor writing up a ticket and then the car disappears - here you are able to actually talk with the techs who are working on your car. We are so impressed with everything that happened for us today - we feel really lucky to have found this garage that we can trust for future repairs on this car. We are already planning to return for a brake job which is going to be happening sooner rather than later. If you're having trouble with your car, please bring it over to Volksmasters! Hank and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, patient and most importantly trustworthy. On the numerous occasions I brought my 13-year old Beetle, Hank assessed it and kindly explained to me what was going on and what needed to be done. Service is unmatched across any other mechanic I've been to!
