The service was terrible. I called to report a possible gas leak and mentioned that I had already shut off the tank valve myself. I requested a system check. After nearly 6 hours and two follow-up calls, a technician finally arrived, performed a basic test, attached a tag, and left—without addressing the issue further.
To make matters worse, they charged me an additional $200 emergency fee, even though they barely did anything. This company clearly does not prioritize customer care. If possible, stay away.
Also, the supervisor/manager I spoke with was rude and unhelpful.

I would not have written a review, but they keep sending me emails and the latest one requested a review so here it is.
We used Ferrell for many years without major issues for gas for our fireplace. We had a crazy big tank for just that, but nobody suggested smaller. I would usually try to refill the tank in late summer for good pricing. In 2024 I forgot. I called in early fall and got dumped into the automated service. I clicked through all the hoops without ever getting a price per gallon quoted. When I got through to the final amount it seemed high. Doing the math, they charged me over $7/g. That is crazy. It took two more calls to get a real person who had no hesitation in verifying that price. I thought maybe I had missed a war or natural disaster and searched the avg price —-a little over $4. So, I called back to cancel my order. This time, they said if I gave them a quote they could price match. Sorry, but you were not even in the ballpark. I have zero trust now. I asked to close the account. Our (huge) tank rental was paid through next summer. I’m ok with that being a loss, except when they then also wanted to charge to come pick up the tank and more to pump out any gas in it (no refund of course). To avoid the pump out charge, we decided to use up what we had left. Fast forward a couple of months. Tank is empty. I called to close out and got a completely different person who without prompting removed call charges (zero sum cost). And supposedly scheduled removal. At the time, I was thinking we needed that done before getting a new service. Nobody came. I called several times and still no show. During this time I signed up with J&J gas. They said no worries, if the old tank was still there they could set it aside. Also, apparently they have to alert the prior service of the disconnect. Guess who showed up unannounced the next day for their tank?
We now have a smaller tank from J&J. Fuel price was good and so far great service.

I was told that if I joined Farm Bureau that I would get a discount from Ferrellgas. I just paid nearly $900 for a tank of gas. Where's my promised discount? No mention was made of it, and I did not see a way to apply it when I paid in advance.

We didn't have the best delivery experience. The driver was not happy about the tight area he had to operate in because we don't have a big open yard and driveway . AI guess we need to find a company with smaller trucks or other options given that our house is buried in the woods. Not their fault, I get that, but if you happen to need propane delivery that is something that needs to be considered. Can they get their trucks in and out safely? ** Editing... It was likely one bad driver not the company overall. It may be harsh to relay it as company wide issues.

This company is a joke. They make you pay up front for the gas, refuse to give you a delivery date or time, and then when they are finally bothered to show up they don't even leave an invoice to show you what was actually put into your tank, so who knows if you overpaid. Their customer service is useless and not helpful. I will not be using them again and will tell anyone else the same

I am 81 years old and have used a few different services in Gainesville. Ferrell Gas in High Springs has worked with me like I am a family member. I am disabled with arthritis and have to swim in a heated pool to survive. I pay a substantial amount of money, but Ferrell Gas does not scam, use any false claims, and is a great fit for me. Is this location even open for business any longer? If I call, it goes directly to indefinite hold, and the last few times I've gone to the building in High Springs, everything is locked up.

If you are on a time table and it is important--go somewhere else. We have had our job pushed back so many times with so many excuses. we paid up front and I am so sorry that we did that this time. We should have looked around before we hired them.

I prefer to go by their local office to set my delivery appointments up. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. I asked them to come out several times to set up outlets in different places for my gas BBQ grill. They gave me some excellent suggestions to improve on what I wanted done. They do an excellent job on any work they do. I am very satisfied!
