About Ruth B. Kirby Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park
Ruth B. Kirby Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park is a beautiful and popular spot for outdoor activities. Visitors enjoy walking the trail and cooling off in the crystal-clear, cool water of the spring. The spring is gorgeous, with clear water, but inflatable floats are not allowed. The park offers kayak rentals, though no tubes are available. It is recommended to arrive early, as the park can fill up quickly. Facilities like bathrooms are not always clean, and showers have been removed. Visitors note that rules are sometimes ignored by others, and some people are not friendly about the pavilions. Overall, it’s a great place for swimming, kayaking, and enjoying nature, with a friendly ranger keeping the area clean and well-maintained.
Great place to visit we walked the trail and took a dip to cool off after. The water was crystal clear and cool so was great after walking the trail. Get there early start to fill up quickly. We arrived early did our hike and swim before noon.

The spring itself is gorgeous and crystal clear the only negative is that any inflatable floats are prohibited in the spring. Also the bathrooms are not clean or sanitary at all. And they took out the showers.

I have on complaint a few rules were not followed by other people. Also people are not friendly or courteous about the pavilions.
