Hillard Airpark (01J) features a well-maintained turf runway and self-service fuel available 24/7 with 100 octane low lead. The airport offers pilot control edge lighting, a crew car, bathrooms, and a snack bar. It is a public airport owned by the town of Hilliard, hosting a variety of experimental and general aviation aircraft, with many transient planes visiting. The facilities are affordable, although the runway can get soggy when wet. Plans to lengthen the runway are in the works, and recent upgrades aim to improve fuel pumps and overall operations.

The airfield is well maintained, with runway lighting, and taxiway identification. The vehicle parking area is small but, convenient, for watching airplanes. Generally, little activity but, nice southern hospitality.

Went out to watch the gliders from Herlong. Such a cool sight!
