Refuse to rent me a piece of equipment that I have previously rented for the exact same purpose. Refused to accept responsibility for her mistake and recheck the details. I said enjoy your negative review when I left. She says "That's fine you won't be able to rent from us anymore."I didn't realize she was going to put me on a "Nationwide" do not rent list" in the time it took me to get to the next U-Haul dealer. They were able to undo what she did and rent me the equipment that I needed.I'm going to assume she's victimized others in the past with this do not rent this. There are other alternatives to U-Haul. I had my mind made up to get this piece of equipment from U-Haul based on my previous experience with this piece of equipment.

If you opt for the SafeMove insurance, and if there is a problem, you may find out the additional expense was wasted. I do not recommend renting from U-Haul, unfortunately they cannot be trusted. Their small print will get you every time. And if you do use them, don't use a Debit Card. I've experienced two unauthorized charges and have cancelled my Debit card, now awaiting a replacement card.

We reserved a 26 ft truck for a move from Hobe Sound to Michigan, and the service was great - the mother and son that were working the day we picked up the truck were friendly and helpful. When we got to our destination in Michigan, the man running the U-Haul place where we dropped it off expressed surprise that we were given such an old truck for such a long trip - he said we should've been given one of the new trucks with a nice suspension, etc. We had to agree that the journey was made VERY uncomfortable due to the "hard" ride that old truck gave us - very uncomfortable for a trip that took 3 days. Had we known that there was a better option, we would've asked for it, but the man at the drop off end said that we shouldn't have had to ask, it should've been assumed that a newer truck would be more appropriate for a long trip (he said he only gives the older trucks to people needing a truck for a local move). So just wanted to let everyone know this so that you can ask for the right truck for your move! (that's the only reason I gave a 4-star instead of a 5-star review).

Buyer Beware!
I'll avoid them in the future. I was quoted at $0.79/mi. on the phone. When I rented a truck they charged me for $0.99/mi. I asked why. They responded that it was a weekend rate. I said, It's Friday. She said, I don't know. That's what the computer says. That resulted in over $20 of extra charges. I was lied to on more than one occasion. I was told there were tie-down straps in the truck. I had to drive the truck to Home Depot to buy them. None. I was charged for 6 rental furniture pads. They gave me 3. I was asked for my email to send a receipt. I gave it to them. I asked them to repeat it. They got an attitude and said, "I got it." I never received an emailed receipt. I was charged twice for the rental. I'm not sure why, because I didn't receive a receipt.

Talk about bad service. I reserved a truck on July 5th (22 days ago). six hours ago, I get an email telling me the truck won't be available and that I have to go 20+ miles north to get it from a different u-haul location. That's pretty bad service U-Haul. Looks like I'm going to rent from Budget in Tequesta.
