Lazy staff that chooses to close their store half an hour earlier than the listed time. Unacceptable, unprofessional. Taking my business elsewhere

I never dreamed that my husband would be getting ridiculed/harassed by employees to NOT wear a mask even though he just got out of the hospital & recovering from both early-stage lung cancer and COVID-19 simultaneously. The new assistant manager at the local Family Dollar banned him because he refused to take off his mask while wearing a hoodie. It was super cold that evening when we were walking our dogs as usual. She said he must be hiding something and when he asked what the official reason for refusing him was, she repeatedly stated "it doesn't matter, it isn't important". I would like to admit that I did not respond in a mature adult manner to her. Unfortunately I got very hot and I yelled at her. I don't remember exactly what I said but I do want to confess it because it was not the way another human being deserves to be treated. She then proceeded to call 911. All of that drama because I want my loved ones to wear a mask and not DIE. My Mother-in-law has COPD and tells me she gets treated just as terribly and unfriendly from the same employee. Between my immediate family we have witnessed her, who claims to be the assistant manager of the store, chase people out and yell that they were banned from her store seven times! That is seven different (and probably undeserving) individuals that this woman has venomously chased outside, screeching at them from the front sidewalk for the entire world to witness. I mentioned that I have worked with the public for almost 20 years and during that time if I had acted that way towards a customer I believe I would have been immediately dismissed, terminated on the spot. This is when the employee gave a little smirk which is the closest thing to a smile I have ever seen from her, and said that the times are changing and the customer does not get bowed down to like they used to. She seemed very happy that she does not have to listen to or do anything for the customer that she doesn't feel like doing. As a matter of fact the only thing I have ever witnessed her physically performing is standing outside smoking cigarettes, running a cash register every once in a while, or sitting on her rear in a chair behind the front register while the other employees are working. If she isn't doing this then she is making anyone and everyone in her store severely uncomfortable and ensuring they do not feel welcome. I do not even want to go into the subject of incorrect shelf pricing. Since Thanksgiving, I have had three different items that were listed as a lower price than the register said but I was refused the lower amount. The assistant manager said that it was the previous weeks sale and it was expired. They just had not gotten around to taking the signs down. We witnessed a young mother that was no more than 21 years of age, just a baby herself, with three kids tagging along. She was trying to buy diapers. When it rang up to a price higher than the sale she was of course refused the item. She did not have enough money and she had to leave the store empty-handed, kids crying, and without diapers. I felt so sorry for her, if I had the extra money I would have gladly paid for her. I feel like the local businesses are all starting to become less and less friendly with their face to face customers. Soon we will all be gladly shopping on Amazon or some other similar app because the ugly look from the employee who had to get up and walk to the cash register and do the job she's being paid for (OH HOW DARE WE!) Made me feel so uncomfortable that I would rather walk 15 extra minutes up the road and 15 minutes more back home just to avoid being treated poorly at the store located 3 minutes away.

It’s just a one stop store, the prices are decent. Don’t go on delivery day, you can’t walk through the isles. Plan to wait in line, another store in need of more workers.

I come here often as its close to home. The one manager in there seems to think every "white" person that comes there is there to steal. Its UNBELIEVABLE I have seen her cuss out a customer as. Well as put her hands on my husband Smh.... Its a shame

This is the cleanest DG around. I bypass at least 2 before getting there because of how friendly and professional the staff. I would give 10 stars just for cleanliness alone something I really value. Looks like the manager really takes pride in this store. I strongly recommend
