Absolutely the worst rental experience I’ve ever had at Hertz Hollywood, FL (2230 Pembroke Rd).
I called ahead, confirmed the car was available, and was told yes.
When I arrived, they refused to rent to me because it was “same-day” and they don’t take debit. I gave both debit and credit, and they still refused.
Manager Jackie Stephens laughed in my face and refused over ten times to spell his name, repeating: “No, I don’t have to spell my name for you. I’m not doing that.”
He only gave me his business card once I pulled out my iPhone to record.
He kept hiding behind a coded door pretending nobody else was in the back, when another manager was there the entire time. When she finally came out, she told me flat-out they “don’t need to do anything.”
To make matters worse, there was also another man working outside on the lot, yet Jackie still claimed he was the “only one working.” This was a flat-out lie on top of everything else.
I even told Jackie, with his attitude, I didn’t understand how he ever got the job as a manager instead of working out on the lot cleaning cars because that’s how unprofessional he was.
I’ve been a Hertz Gold Member for years, and this is how I was treated. To be laughed at, lied to, and denied service after confirming availability is disgraceful.
Both managers on duty should face consequences. Neither deserves to represent Hertz.

The Counter Agent Jackie was very helpful! Clean car and great service everytime I rent. Highly recommend.

Place is small, and tight, but service is great.
Definitely needs a larger location.
