I waited over an hour even with an appointment a few months back to get my taxes done, paid H&R Block’s fees along with my taxes just to get a letter from the IRS saying I owe them money! They weren’t able to assist me at all when I went into their office. Now I’m stuck with an amount due, interest fees accumulating and have to take time out of my busy schedule to deal with the IRS. I’ve never had these issues before and there are cheaper alternatives to H&R Block out there that won’t leave you with headache like this one.

I wanted to leave 5 stars for the tax preparer Catherina but after waiting beyond the mark of my estimated refund arrival I must say there was fault here with H&R Block. I feel as if they will tell you whatever to get you to agree to do your taxes with them without FULLY informing you about the details of your return and the ETA on your refund. Claiming stimulus checks, EITC, and other things on your return call for delays in your return which they don't tell you ahead of time to save you the worry or anticipation. They prompt you with "It takes up to 21 days for the IRS to issue a refund" which is true but NOT when you claim certain things on your return. They should SAY THAT upfront and not leave you with the impression that you won't wait longer than the expected time. Also, there's a receptionist at the front desk also who is VERY rude. I called to request to speak with my tax preparer and she wasn't available at the moment so I proceeded to leave my info for her to return my call. As I am spelling out my first name after I've said it, the receptionist says to me "ok phone number " as if she doesn't care how it's spelled really just hurry up and give me your number and as I tell her "ma'am I wasn't done" she says "ma'am I have other people to tend to, what's your number". It's never about what you say but how you say it and that as well as my experience confirmed that they are more about QUANTITY than QUALITY.
