So I was shopping and needed to make two separate transactions with different cards. I scanned my first card, entered the PIN, and the cashier said he would separate the transactions. However, while I was holding my ID and debit card in my left hand, the card reader picked up the tap-to-pay signal from that debit card, even though it was about a foot away. As a result, funds were taken from the wrong card without my permission.
I told the cashier that I had already scanned my other card, but he didn't seem to care and said he just works there. This situation is unacceptable. I wasn't close enough for the tap-to-pay feature to activate, yet it still took money from the wrong card. The machine ignored my manual swipe and PIN entry and instead took funds from a card that was a foot away. I started to wonder if the machine had a skimmer because I didn't realize what had happened until I was in my car.
If you shop here, be careful to avoid this happening to you. I needed that money on the other card for something else, and this was unauthorized. The cashier was rude, unhelpful, and showed no accountability or customer service. This has never happened to me before, and I often need to split payments between different cards. I won't be back.

I was locked inside store with my minor child in front of customers. Racially profiled police called on me refused to let me out of store 11/17/2023 nobody has returned my call.

This is my favorite place to shop for goods. I live near the store so it's very convenient to stop by here for a quick grab of items. Also, prices here are really cheap compared to buying at a Publix, Walgreens, or CVS. Although, there's usually never enough staff at the front of the cash register and sometimes the lines are long (15 minutes wait) due there only being one MAYBE 2 cash registers open. Also the self service counter is down. Overall, would continue shopping here.

The store has come up a long way since the store manager has taken over. He has cleaned it up and he is waiting on the company to send someone to fix the floor. So pleased that the company brought someone to the store that cares about or store and tye community.

One of the best Dollar Generals I’ve ever been to!Clean, well stocked, great variety especially in health and beauty and seasonal items.Well staffed and was greeted and thanked!Bonus that the strip mall has great all you can eat Sushi and a Mexican Restaurant that looked busy and a bar with music!

So hot inside! 2 star deduction for heat. Love the manager here. He’s a great guy, but the store is uncomfortable due to the heat. I try to get in and out as quick as possible. The manager can’t do anything about it. He has asked corporate repeatedly to look into it. This store is at the beach, and gets beach sun. Right now it was a relief to walk outside bc the temp is 76. It had to be pushing 90 in there. Hope they can get it fixed soon so I can leisurely shop.

It was nasty. I felt like I needed to bathe in sanitizer before getting back in my vehicle. Very little variety of seasonal products and decorations. The items they had were all over the place. Very little organization. One visit was all I needed.

Poor customer service and horrible management.Shelves are empty and store is dirty. They don't let you use the restroom and are very rude when they have to do their job by checking you out.

The store in Jacksonville Beach is randomly open and always in disarray. Today the lights were on, but doors locked shut.
