They require you provide your DL and SSN to treat your pet under the premise it protects you and them from fraud. I don't see any reason why they need that personal info, and I believe it actually would put me at more risk for fraud to have my SSN out there unnecessarily, so I cancelled my appt to find a vet whose values more align with my own. Also, be prepared to wear a mask every day of the year as the main vet said his wife had covid before. I'm not insensitive to those with long covid (if that's the case) but masks have long officially been deemed unhelpful in stopping the spread of covid, so it does seem a bit peculiar. Too much overreach for me to have them take care of my dog. If you're okay with the info and masks, sure, go for it.

This has to be the worst correspondence I've ever had with a veterinary office. I call the office and ask which days they perform surgery. My pup needs a dental cleaning and these are performed on days surgeries are done. The woman on the phone says she isn't sure which days are for surgery. Ok, maybe she's new. She asks for a call back number. 4 hours pass by. I call back. She answers. I identify myself and she says she's alone and doesn't have the information yet but she would call back. This is odd. Is this a new establishment? I don't ask but say ok. Next day I call and a new woman answers. I identify myself and explain everything. She says she sees a note left by the other woman. I ask the woman in the phone if she has the surgery dates and I ask if I can schedule something. She says she isn't able to schedule anything and she doesn't have the pertinent information. I ask if there's anyone else i can speak to and she says no. I'll have to wait until the other woman is back to the office the next day. So, 2 business days in a row and I can't get any information or schedule an appointment with this vet. Next day, I call back and reached the initial woman I spoke to and get a lot of information. GREAT! I get a form sent via email that they need filled and to send it back. Great! No problem. I send the form, my pup's vaccination records, medical history. They then ask for a copy of my driver's license. This is unprecedented. I ask multiple friends and family if they've ever accounted this (as I haven't) and nobody has ever been asked for their driver's license at a vet's office. So, via email (see photo attached), I ask the office why they need my license as this is irregular. They could have responded saying it's just their protocol. They could have responded with a string of bad incidents with clients. Instead, the office seems offended! In 30 years of being in operation no client has ever asked such a thing! So, instead of simply answering the question I get what seems to be a nuclear response. I'm to blame and how dare I question them! Who am I to ask?! What nerve! They informed me that my appointment has been cancelled and my pup's records have been shredded. I've never in my life!!!! Read the office's response in the attached photo. Take your business elsewhere. You deserve better and so does your pet.

One of our backyard chickens found herself egg bound. Not only does this vet see chickens, they saw our Gertie girl the same day, saving her life. The staff is extremely kind and empathetic and were just as concerned for our girl as we were. Incredibly grateful and highly recommend.

Dr. Lawless and his staff are phenomenal. We first brought our bengal cat here when he was a kitten and Dr. Lawless diagnosed a heart condition and immediately developed a treatment plan to include periodic EKGs and atenenol medication. Because of his early diagnosis, our fur-baby is healthy and expected to have the same longevity as if he didn't have the condition. We also bring our other fur-baby cat here. The staff are always professional and polite, and Dr. Lawless really takes the time to discuss how the appointment went and address any questions or concerns we have.

The receptionist is very rude and unprofessional. I called a week ago to get information on neutering a cat and was told I would get a call back within 1 to 2 days. Never did get that call back. So I just called again, to get the same thing, she will call me back, so I said "but that's what you told me last week and I never got a call back" and in the middle of saying that, hold music comes on and she just never comes back to the phone. Okay. I'll go elsewhere then.

Very unprofessional staff. Especially when we're talking about a person's animal that is like family. Have some compassion.

My family and I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge Dr. Lawless. You and your Team are just the right fit for family's who love and care for their animals like we do. Thank you very much for the kind and heartfelt letter that you all sent regarding the loss of our Leonidas. Beach St. John Animal Hospital was a great choice for us and this just reemphasizes our decision was correct in working with you and your Team to provide care and compassion for our loved ones. Thank you Sincerely, Brent and Barb Jakeway family.

After being treated by dr. Lawless since mid-August, this is what my dear puppy looks like. He had an ear infection that went undiagnosed and on top of that dr. Lawless substitute sent him to an eye specialist when all my dog needed was a knowledgeable vet. Stay away!
