Waited over an hour at JAX airport Budget Car Rental. Despite having FastPass, was required to wait in line. At this major airport, there was ONLY 1 representative to address a line of at least 40 people. Every other car rental place had 2+ representatives......Strike 1. Finally received car but the previous renter CLEARLY SMOKED in this car. Budget's feeble attempt to cover the smell with perfume was a complete fail and made us nauseated. Strike 2. The windows were FILTHY and impaired our ability to see the road. Strike 3.We called customer support on day 1 only to be told a) we could go get it washed and be reimbursed (sorry, ain't doing their work for them) or b) go to the nearest Budget office to trade out the car. We opted to do this but we were told there were no cars. Strike 4This is the 3rd and final time we will rent with Budget. Had same issues with previous cars in other cities but kept thinking it was a "one off"---- silly us. We've learned our lesson. Their prices are lower because they force their customers to sit in cars laden with others filth, rarely adequately address concerns of customers and are just plain sub par. Steer clear of Budget.

Ray Adieh is the best. I don't know why there are any bad reviews for this business, but I was 110% satisfied with the assistance he provided with my problem. In April, I was staying in Jacksonville for a couple nights on my way down to Sarasota from Augusta, Georgia. I found out I needed the vehicle I had for two weeks instead of one. I had to extend my rental an extra week which meant changing the drop off from Sarasota airport the next day to Tampa airport a week later. I thought this was going to be a real problem logistically and monetarily until Ray took over. In 5 minutes, he not only printed out my new contract for the extended week, he got me the same price I paid on the original contract with no extra charge for switching drop off locations. I found out from talking to Ray that he had extensive experience in prior employment in the field of "logistics" (perfect for his present position). It was also good to find out he was a Budget Independent Operator which means he had a vested interest in customer satisfaction. Thanks again, Ray.

Was told by an employee that this car was washed the day prior. Active bird p*** on top, with bug splatter on the front. No other vehicle was offered and I sat and waited while the car was properly cleaned. Not the best start of a 12 hour road trip. Take your business elsewhere.

Just go to enterprise down the road. Unhelpful. Reserved online for me by someone else and they wouldn't let me pick up my car because that person who paid was in a different county. No where did it say this was their policy and couldn't not even cancel the ride at the store.

Budget@10246 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville ·(904) 720-2255So our car died and had to go into the shop. Husband ordered a economy sized SUV so my big walker with wheels would fit. Got there and all they had for us was a Hyundai Elantra. Not enough room, but we made do. Our car got fixed a day earlier than expected so we called to turn our rental in and we were told would still have to pay for the full time because we paid in advance. If we would have paid when we turned in our vehicle, we would have saved a whole days charges, but as we paid in full in advance we could not get what we paid for the day we did not use back. So basically we paid for a day we did not have the car, and because we turned the rental in early, they are able to re-rent it for the day we paid for. The car had a few scratches and dents that my husband took pics of before he left the lot. The inside passenger door was full of gunk. Really sticky and gross. Passenger side carpet was full of light colored sand. The 2 12v and USB plug-ins did not work at all, so we could not use our dash-cam or our music. I called to ask if we could get a break on the day we did not use and the representative kind of laughed and told us it says no refunds. If we could have been refunded for the extra day, We might not have complained, but since the car was nasty, yeah. Not going to use Budget or ANY of their affiliates ever again. When we turned the car in, they seemed unhappy that we used the AMAC and Groupon discounts. Suggestion... Just don't!

The African American woman at the front desk was very rude. Asked a few simple questions about the return date for a rental car and she became temperamental. After going outside and looking at the car, noticed a few dings on the side and went in to ask about pre-inspection which she never mentioned. Again, very rude. It was almost as if she didn't have the time or patience to talk to a customer.

Never rent from budget rental cars especially this location. Management was rude and ruined Christmas for my family. They did not have the mid size suv I reserved and month earlier but she said I could come back later. I came back later that day but she offered me a dirty small car that had not been cleaned since the last rental when there was a Jeep Wrangler parked out front. Budget customer service then told me that the rate had increased $250 for the next day and I had to go to the airport to pick up the car.

Unbelievably poor service, got s*** down immediately when I needed assistance with an issue... 0 sign of willingness to assist or offer alternative solution. And wanted $430.00 for a 2 rental will never use Budget again!

We needed a truck and car transporter for a 600 mile trip on short notice. I made a reservation online (which was easy to navigate and helpful to choose the right combination for our needs).I reached out to the location by phone and the agent, Ray, was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaged in the confirmation call. When we arrived at the scheduled pick up time, Rachael was cheerful & extremely efficient with the terms of service to get us on our way.Rachael and Ray, you are awesome! You made the very best out of a necessary chore. Thank you!

Ray. Oh my good golly. He's the sweetest man. 9/10 is there BY HIMSELF. This man either needs more people on his team or a raise because all these negative reviews are ridiculous. He's doing the best he can by himself. Be nice.

I picked up a vehicle here and I had to stop and fill all of the tires at the gas station near the rental agency, I just assumed the maintenance was not kept up on the rental fleet as usual. After driving for approximately 3 hours I had to again stop and fill the passenger rear tire with air. I assumed then that the tire had a slow leak. I had to continually stop every 3 or 4 hours to fill the tire. When I reached my destination I called the number for service on the rental agreement and I was told I could do 1 of 3 things: 1. return the car to the nearest agency 35 miles away for a replacement; 2. have the tire repaired and Budget would reimburse me for the cost or 3. replace the tire at my own cost. I decided I would return the car the next day due to the agency being closed for the day. When I got up in the morning the tire was almost flat and was not safe to drive on. I decided to change the tire and proceed to the nearest Budget for replacement. Unfortunately there was no spare tire in the vehicle, who rents a vehicle with no spare?? I then called the roadside assistance again and was told they would replace the car and it would be approximately 90 minutes until they arrived with the replacement, to which I agreed. After waiting 5 1/2 hours the car finally arrived. I had missed all of my appointments for the day. Upon entering the new vehicle the tire low pressure light was on as well as the maintenance required light. I looked in the cars manual and found the maintenance light was for an oil change so I then proceeded to the nearest gas station for air, 3 of the tires were low and one had 46 lbs of air in it. Due to my missed appointments on Friday I was forced to extend my stay through the weekend and reschedule my appointments for Monday. The trip delay cost me $150. extra for the car, $450. extra for the hotel plus the cost of meals for the weekend. To make matters worse I just got a bill for $162 in the mail to repair the tire! Rent from a reputable company and save yourself a lot of troubles.

These idiots don't even deserve one star. Went online to reserve a truck, gave cc information, received a confirmation number. Then got a call two hours later telling me no truck was available. Useless. Customer service then tells me that even with a confirmation the vehicle isn't guaranteed....wtf!! Avoid at all costs, completely useless.
