I truly enjoyed the experience at Congaree and Penn. We sat on the patio for brunch and the weather was perfect during our visit. We had the banana bread and charcuterie board as appetizers. The banana bread was AMAZING! It is truly worth trying. It's topped with a caramel drizzle and whipped cream. I also tried the Pinot noir and the cider flight. I LOVED the Pinot noir, it had a very nice taste. My favorite of the cider flight was the gallberry honey. I also had the hot chicken sandwich as the entree and it was perfectly crisp and fresh. Our server made sure we were well taken care of and explained the menu items we ordered! We also got the farm passes and explored the farm. Amazing experience.

Overpriced and pretentious! The food was good, but not great. The extremely high prices and tiny portion sizes will leave you feeling robbed. The restaurant will sneak a service charge into the bill, so be aware. The waitress was pleading for additional tips because the owner did not pass the additional money to the waitstaff. Will not be returning!

Amazing food and service! You need a reservation for dinner but can walk in for their few bar seats.

Do not bother visiting! I really wanted to like this place because it is so highly hyped. Exploring the farm after paying the separate additional fee will be fun for those who like the outdoors. However, this restaurant failed where it matters the most. It turned out to be an over-priced, underwhelming experience when it came to the food! In the end, I felt that I was charged haute cuisine prices for Denny's quality food. I got the Florida Chicken, which is basically a crispy fried chicken served in a bun; the chicken was over-fried and tough. The chef must have had a good laugh when he was plating the Strawberry Salad from the main course menu; for $19, the portion size was literally 4 bites of salad doused in dressing! I would not recommend this place unless, of course, you are into these trendy, pretend-hipster vibes that the restaurant is trying to cater to.

My family and I had an exceptional time at the farm and restaurant. Service, food and drinks were great. Johnny took good care of us and the manager Patrick shared some cool features of how the farm operates and what makes Congaree so unique. We will definitely be back.

Impressed by the charcuterie board's delightful freshness and flavor, but the catch of the day fell short in terms of taste. Despite this, I'm open to returning to sample a different dish, especially considering the excellent service that added to the overall positive experience!

Beautiful grounds, fast and friendly service. Food was unbelievably good. Minus a star just because prices were crazy high.

Quite possibly the most consistently delicious food I've ever experienced, not to mention an atmosphere that exudes conviviality. Highly recommend.

Wow! What a hidden gem of Jacksonville ⭐?⭐From date night to family night...sunset is amazing while you relax at a fire table and overlook the grapevines. The Risotto and soup du jour are a must have with a glass ? of wine or cider! Well worth the drive

We got married here 12-30-23It is in the agreements that you sign that you cannot have outside alcohol which is understandable, i had a couple unruly guests that i was unaware had alcohol on the premises. They were informed to take it off property but they were drunk, i was never informed that this was an issue, the venue knew i was pregnant and sober and never addressed this to me so i could fix it until after the ceremony and told us they would not be giving our deposit back. We were also blamed for trash and cigarettes (nobody in my family or my husbands family smokes cigarettes or ever has and NO trash was left as we hired a decorator to clean up and my father cleaned everything before we left for us as well) they allowed strangers and bystanders all around the ceremony sight who most likely were responsible for the trash and cigarettes but again we got blamed. It was a beautiful day regardless and we found out the gender of our child that night as well by cutting a cake that they later said would cost $5 a person. Apparently this is also in the agreement we signed so i can’t be too mad but i think that policy is greedy and ridiculous. They did not charge us which i was thankful for but just be aware you cannot bring cake to your own wedding and it’s not cheap to rent this venue even if you do the elopement package like we did (we only had 30 guests) i cannot imagine having a big wedding here nor would i ever recommend to do so. Overall I’m disappointed with how congaree handled this situation by not even giving me the opportunity to fix the problems and waited so they could keep our deposit. I requested a manager to call me that never happened instead i got an email days later while we were on our honeymoon saying they’re keeping our money. It is a nice place i will give them that and i enjoyed my wedding so did my husband but i don’t care to ever go back and their customer service is very sub par.

This is a must do if you are a local. It is nice little escape from the city with a great view. Absolutely worth the drive. The food is amazing. When I brought people everyone raved on how it was the best meal on their trip.

Love driving out to visit with my family and have a great meal and look at all the beauty that this place has to offer. So many food options for everyone here that it makes it easy to bring anyone. Their Cornbread is so delicious and has rotating flavors so always something new to try! All their breads and pastries are made in house from items on the farm and go so well with their house made jams and jellies( and you can buy some to take home as well). They put out a new menu every few months so its always fun to go check out what they have new on the menu. They have a really great biscuit sandwich and vegan gf english muffin on the brunch menu, and omg the banana bread is to die for. Always save room for dessert its well worth it here, the dark chocolate espresso cake is so rich and delicious and with a hint of lemon. Before or after a meal here make time to explore the beauty and serenity of the farm and wander the paths to find all the animals. Great for a date night or family brunch!!

On behalf of the Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center thank you, Congaree and Penn for your very generous donation to our FinFest 2024 Silent Auction. We are truly grateful for your continued support. Congaree and Penn is a beautiful hidden gem with breathtaking views, fresh food, wine tasting, ciders, and more. The atmosphere makes the farm a great place for a date night, a family outing, or any special occasion. Highly recommended!
