My family was interested in purchasing a membership here, but since we have a lot of food allergies, I visited the store in effort to see what products they sell first. I entered the store and was sent to membership to get a pass to do this. After waiting at membership, I was advised they do not allow customers to check out the store to ensure the products we actually need/ can eat are available first, before purchasing a membership. The woman in membership rolles her eyed at me. This doesn't seem logical or fair to anyone with food allergies trying to figure out where they can actually buy the groceries they need. Very disappointing...

Previously spent $1162. on Michelin tires at Costco and found out today when I asked if someone would put air in my tires that I have to do it myself...so I drove to Firestone and they gladly added air to my tires with a smile.

It happened 8 pm on 2/3/25 when I checked out at the East Costco in Jacksonville Florida. I had a heavy box set of Henckels Paradigm and was dancing between the serviced check out or the self check out. Ms. Arty at the self check out saw me and nicely invited me to check out with her and I did. She was idle at that time. Until she put my bag of Bounty kitchen towels on the floor without my agreement, she has been nice.
I was too late to stop her from putting it on the floor and I told her immediately that she needed to have my agreement before she put my stuffs on the floor.
First of all, there is a designated table for holding all scanned items.
Secondly, from opening hours till almost closing hours, if not thousand, must be hundreds of people walking in that area and carrying gems around.
Thirdly, H5 has been spreading in USA.
Ms. Arty's first respond was: she has been putting so many items on the floor while checking out for the members and I was the first one to complain about it. She further added that all items were being touched anyhow (it is not about being touched but being put on a heavy traffic "floor"). While I was trying to explain to her the three points that I just cited, she walked away and ignored me and worked with other customers.
If she would have apologized or offered me to swap out the item or to clean the bag, this comment is not going to exist. I ended up asking her for napkin and used the disinfectant spray hanging next to the cashier to wipe the bag by myself.
Sense of hygiene can be taught but attitude cannot. Wish Costco can develop or obtain a better staff screening process in the near future. Thanks for your attention.

I once had to go here buy some groceries and it wasn’t much of shopping. When I wanted to pay their device didn’t read my credit card. One employee told us you need to have member credit card and my credit card was my husband’s. Then he rudely said do you want me to call the managyor you ll put stuff back. I waited for the manager and he was even more impolite. At the end after i tried an other card it worked and I called costco costumer service and they said there is not such a thing, it s just the matter of what type of credit card and from which bank you use.

The rudeness of the overall customer service at the gate parkway store is the reason I dropped my membership. Rudeness is literally their culture. The other two locations (St John's and Collins Rd) are infinitely better but are too far away for me. I heard rumors at my last visit that there was a management change coming for this location, I hope it's true because it is way overdue. I have switched to BJ's and the difference is like night and day - BJ's employees go out of their way to try and help you.

The old Lady on receiving is really unprofessional, I can't imagine how she manage to get the position. This is the only costco that are always at least 1 hour or more behind the appointments. Super slow and unprofessional.

I just joined costco after seeing deals a friend got. This particular location is just awful!!! Employees are extremely rude, unprofessional and just completely miserable. Please dont bother any of them with a question. I will try another location before canceling my membership. I have never had an experience like that at Sam's or BJs and am so far really regretting the $130 for a membership. They did have good stuff at great prices,I'm just not sure if it's worth the hassel of being treated so horribly while trying to shop.

Been a member for over 20 years. The last visit was like a shake down! My in-laws were in town for Thanksgiving. We were humiliated bcz of the cashier harassing us. She was demanding that the member ( thats me, myself) the membeship holder, to pay with a debit card that belonged to me or HAD to be in my name? Thats a first! My father in law was trying to be kind and offered to pay the entire bill ($325) with his debit card, which whom is also a member. It was an ordeal that could've and SHOULD'VE been avoided. My husband, his mother, his sister, and my 2 boys were all standing there along with 10 others standing and staring at us who were eagerly in line waiting. All the while, I/ the member had to get pulled out of the food line by my husband and walk all the way back to the cashier and pay with MY debit card!!!!! My father in law was apologizing to the others that were standing there having to wait on us bcz we were holding up everyone, very humiliated! My in-laws were clearly speaking with an accent but fluently communicating in English. He has paid numerous times for us with my membership and his debit card throughout the years holiday shopping! This experience was borderline harassment and possibly discriminating! Talk about shamed and embarrassed! Costco, you can keep your unbelievable plan of shame and harassment! There are plenty of others! We are members of BJS and Sams Club. We'll never make the mistake of coming back or to re-new our VIP membership, EVER! 💯

If you buy liquor, they make you take it back to your car before you can go into the rest of the store. This hasn't been enforced at any Costco I've ever been to before. Totally unnecessary policy that puts members second.
