Friendly little shop with so many wonderful things inside. Pandora, Vera Bradley, to name a few will keep you coming back to this shop. Cowford Traders staff is helpful. The shop is always getting in new things so you have to keep coming back to see what's new.Parking can be tricky during peak times but if you are patient and willing to circle the block you can find a spot. Avondale is great for walking. The tree lined shops are quaint.

This is the site of the old White's Book Store for those who may remember. Cowford Traders has everything you would need for your presents for any and all occasions. I shop her for my family as well as for finding a nice card to send to someone for any reason. The store is huge with plenty of options as well as some high end jewelry available, so it is the kind of store that makes you feel welcome and as if you want to stay a while, browse and enjoy. The staff are fantastic, and I find myself getting lost in here sometimes because there is so much to see. A great local stored.

Love. ...I love the smell of the store, I love the decorations they display at the entrance and I love their customer service. We go here after breakfast and wander around, try on silly hats and take our pictures, touch and smell everything. The women who work there are friendly and dont mind us just hanging out for a while looking at everything ridiculous, a book highlighting the dogs of Avondale. ..really people??!! And the beautiful stuff like the jewelry, lotions and handbags. A little bit of everything for everyone!

Unique little gift shop in the start of the shopping in Avondale. They have some good stuff alright. Some unique and some fancy and some useless. They have all sorts of things. It a nice shop but I went in for one thing and I got it. Yea for me and thanks Cowford Traders.

This is a pretty cute little shop. They have everything from bags to decor to toys. It was a lot bigger than I expected when I first walked in. If you find yourself in the Avondale area be sure to stop in!!

Easy for me to swing in to pick up a quick gift if I can find parking. Big selection of random things, surely there is something for everyone.

I bought a Vera Bradley item here tonight and when I asked the salesperson for a box, she said she couldn't give me one because the item I purchased was on sale and that is " against policy". Seriously?! I buy an item(a gift) from your store that YOU put on sale and you aren't even going to give me a box?! That is just tacky.

I just absolutely love Cowford Traders. First off, it is named after Jacksonville's original name [Cowford... we had a lot of cows to ford across the river]. Secondly, they sell almost everything your mind can imagine. And lastly, the people who work there are so fantastic! Going to Cowford Traders is one of those not-just-a-shop-but-an-experience kind of places. I undoubtedly get lost inside the toy section of the store every single time I go in. I bought my husband some musical instruments [from said children's section] for Christmas last year. And I will try on at least five pairs of funky sunglasses before I leave. [When I say funky, I mean FUNKY. Shapes, shades, sizes...]They also sell some really beautiful home decor items, a large variety of jewelry, and stationary. I recommend coming here after brunch on a Sunday morning [The Brick, Biscotti's, 'town all have great brunch] and wasting a little lazy Sunday afternoon time perusing it's aisles. A fantastic way to spend the day.

I categorized this as a Home Decor store but they do sell items such as handbags, stationary and toys also. Fun Jacksonville Fact--before it was Jacksonville, it was Cowford--thus the name of this store. Cowford Traders has a nice mix of home decor items and kitchen/entertaining ware. The taste is definitely more Avondale than Riverside, if you catch my drift. Two words: Vera Bradley. I still find it a nice place to pick up a gift while I'm in the area.
