Updating to today, April 12, 2024. I go here regularly and I'm not thrilled with it but it's easy. I'm showing my husband's receipt because I didn't even take mine but the point is the attitude and the actions. The cashier ask for ID as usual. He proceeds to leave my stuff in the basket and the small box that he had already put in a bag he pulled back out of the bag and handed to me. He didn't bag anything. I took it all out to the car and unloaded it into the car looking like I stole it or something. Good thing it's on tape showing I paid for it. My husband goes down there gets his stuff and the kid proceeds to do the same thing to him. My husband demanded to know why he wasn't bagging his stuff. What in the world? They close down the self checkout which is the only thing I wanted to use anyway and now this is the cashiers way of acting? I'm including the picture of my husband's receipt because it shows the address of the store and it shows the cashier's name. If the manager don't approve of this kind of behavior, I hope they pay attention. There's a whole lot of us people around this neighborhood really tired of some things down there.

I went to the dollar general today and the lady had left the counter and was walking all the way around the store yelling for Lexi and she had went to go check a price on the shelf and there’s a guy that was at self check out left without paying she was cussing a storm

I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of coming into contact with an (I assume) overworked employee multiple times this week who is just very unapproachable and rude. The first few times I let it go, I had a sick child at home and this is the closest store so I didn’t want to go further down the road. Today as I was checking out, she was standing behind the register and instructing a couple of people on how to use self check out. I walked up and politely asked if she was “open” and her response was to look at me, make a point to look at the turned off light at the register that she was standing behind, to saying “sure!” In the most condescending way. I told her I was going to just use self checkout. Never once have I been here and been specially asked to use self checkout, or has the register been closed while someone stands behind it yelling across the aisle to give instructions. I usually do use self checkout, but they were both full, and as I said she was just standing there.I thought this store was really going in a great direction after the new management or whatever came in, and I absolutely adore the older woman who works there. She is truly a light and amazing, SHE is the reason I give any stars at all. I won’t bite my tongue on this issue anymore- If I had walked up and thrown my things in the counter I could see that warranted but that was not the case, and I do not appreciate the attitude.

Customer service is really nice and the store definitely looks a lot better since remodeling, but it needs cleaning, the floor look disgusting and the other door still doesn’t work.

This store is never ever open, if they do open its only for around 2 hours per day. I shop at the dollar general ALOT and this store has to be one of the worst I have attemted to shop in. I was shopping Last week and they yelled to all the employees that they were closing the store at 11:45am . Why? The cashier said she needed to pick her child up from school.Her 8th grader. However there were 2 other employees working as well in the store . One of them being the store manager . Was there a reason why she couldnt keep the store open and run the register? Or even the other employee? They always have Non employees in the store when I Try yo shop . THE door was locked the day and someone who didnt seem like a employee was inside the locked door behind the register on the phone,, the phone is constantly busy all day every day...I try to save time and call but someone is always on that phone....They would get 0 if I COULD..
