Regarding Store Number 12954:
I visit this store every summer when I come to visit my summer home each year. This is the first time that I’ve ever had a bad experience at this store.
I came into this store for one item. I walked in, grabbed it and went to check out. I am new to the DG reward system so I typed in my phone number. It failed, I typed the number with a 1 in front of it and it still failed so I asked the gentleman if someone could help with the technical issue.
A manager named Kelsey came to the front and twists the screen towards me, points, and says “It says it failed on our end”. Well, both I and the gentleman at the register already knew that, that’s why he ask her to come and help.
Kelsey ask if I had the app, I told her no, I went through the website. In my local store, a young lady directed each customer to a QR code and that’s how I signed up. She shook her head and said, if I type mine in, it will work. Texas is different from Florida. It’s a whole different state. (Stating the obvious.)
I told her not to speak to me as though I am stupid. I know my geography. She said there is nothing that I can do for you and walked away without even selling me my item.
Kelsey provided no solution, guidance on what the problem could be, how to solve it… she did not care to be helpful at all. She simply came to the front without so much as a hello ready to argue and be belligerent. Very poor character, behavior, and service.
UPDATE: The District Manager reached out. She was a caring, prompt, and professional. She also let me know that the interaction that I had wasn’t with the manager, Kelsey but with a shift lead. The gentleman in the store shared the name Kelsey but that was not the name of the lady who I’d interacted with.

They got a lot of freezer space, must be a super Dollar General or something. Like to be out of here before dark due to the neighborhood.

Dollar General is my go to place for household cleaning products. I find them to have the best value for all cleaning items for your home. They also have an app where you can get additional savings.

Evan, the manager at this location, has always been extremely helpful and is a joy to be around! There is another dollar store down the road I could go to, but I prefer to go to this one due to the helpful atmosphere that has been created.
