This man is devious to the enth degree. Please save your money. I have what he wrote for costs for what we gave him: Totally rebind my Bible with a burgany leather cover -- $120; fix watch clasp -- $5-$15; solder ring with rose gold -- $20-$30. After he changed his story many times for pick-up dates and prices, we cancelled the Bible being rebound and just told him to glue the pages back in for his quoted price of $20. We finally met with him yesterday in a parking lot. He would NOT even let us see the items unless I got back in my car and Bob handed him the money!!! He wouldn't let Bob see either the ring or his watch!!! When I finally got my ring (Actually Bob's grandmother's ring -- over 100 years old) it had one prone partially gone, the prior security that had been implimented years ago to keep the opal in place had been totally removed and the stone raised off the base with the rest of the prones no longer able to securely keep the stone in place. My Bible was shabbly 'done'. He charged us $170 and wouldn't give my husband the items until he had our money in his deceitful hands. The web-site is also fake and does not exist. The address is of an old abandon building!!! We've been had. But even more importantly -- so many others have been had as well.

I had a very interesting experience at this cobbler & probably won't return. I brought in a pair of boots to be repaired after speaking with Charles (the owner?) on the phone. He seemed competent & quoted me a competitive price. When I arrived, I was taken aback at the look of the "store." The interior is *covered* from top to bottom with stuff...shoes, books, DVDs, you name it, it's for sale. But it's not a tidy, organized amount of stuff--it's a chaotic, hoarder's dream. Weird strike #1. When I went to pick up my boots, Charles said he accepts only cash for payment. This tends to be inconvenient, but is less so if the customer is informed beforehand. I wasn't. He agreed to take my check however. What really concerned me was his explanation for why he doesn't usually accept checks. Charles attests that there are multiple ways to fix shoes &, if customers express from the beginning that they are meticulous & detail-oriented, he will fix a shoe one way. But for others who don't care as much about the outcome of the repair, he fixes the shoe another way. Hmmm...this wasn't winning me over as a new customer. So basically he admitted to me that, because I didn't say that I was particular & fussy, he repaired my boot with less care. Unfortunately, it shows too...the proof is in the picture. :/

My wife dropped off a pair of shoes a week ago for repair. Charles, the owner, seemed nice enough. She made small talk while waiting and he asked if she liked to read. She responded yes, she did. He said he had lots of books and asked if she was interested in any. She asked if he had any 'LDS' books (we're LDS..Mormon) and he responded that he might. I don't remember the rest of the conversation from that day but I do remember that he went on to leave messages on her voice mail, each one as long as the system allows. She played them for me that night. I started off laughing because he was rambling about Joe Smith being a drunkard, The Book of Mormon blah, blah, blah, we don't worship the same Jesus Christ as the rest of Christianity, etc. To me, he sounded like he was drunk, not making any thoughts connect. After the first I thought, "Oh well. " after the 6TH MESSAGE I was beginning to get a aggravated that somebody that was supposed to be repairing my wife's shoes would dare ask and leave such messages. I decided to not shake the boat, let him repair her shoes and let it be. Today she went to pick up her shoes. He asked if she had listened to the messages. She responded that she had indeed and that it didn't matter to her what other people 'thought' about her faith, she was where God wanted her and that was good enough for her. That wasn't good enough for Charles. After what seemed like an eternity trying to just pick up her shoes, being told at every opportunity that she was being misled, that she had been brainwashed, that she was being emotional as she tried to respond to his accusations, she and my son were finally able to leave with her shoes. Charles is a member of a prominent Southern Baptist religion that seems to have a 'thing for Mormons'. From what many seem to 'know' about Mormons and Joseph Smith it would appear that the weekly sermons preach more about Mormons than they do about Christ. Sad. I would never go to this place of business nor send my wife or anyone else I care about there.

This is charles..owner & opetator of King style shoe & boot sales & service.. Google should hear both sides of a Story before they post it because Otherwise it causes alot of confusion.. For one month, our nearest competitor Was on vacation..so i was fixing all of our regular customers shoes plus all of Theit customers who were coming to Me hoping to bring all of their business To me instead..we were very busy trying to Keep up with both..i couldn't fix everything As soon as they wanted even though i Tried..so they got mad at me..i gave Them better service, so i had to charge More..that is really what they got mad About..i train our customers not to Jump to conclusions, but it is difficult To do that with people who are not Used to carrying on long discussions (Our competitors are korean & their English is 1st grade)..i have to be patient With new customers who want to rush In & to drop something off with no Discussion (with each customer i Average 10-15-30 minutes)..we are A Christian Bookstore so there is always Somethingto talk about..we carry John Grisham & james patterson, Etc. also..all bookstores are somewhat Disorganized on busy days at least.. They may look in disarray, but that Is just temporary until the end of the day.. Some people like books & some people Have absolutely no use for them..some People forget the advice that i give them, Which is most of the time valuable, but After a coupke of days their thoughts Get all jumbled up in forgetfulness..& Then they can no longer be thankful For the details..i have to remind them, But if they continue to bemad, then there Is no need for me to try to help them.. Their prejudices have overridden their Caution to be calm & rational & controlled By logic & facts & truth

I would never recommend this place! It took him a week to fix the shoes, and when I got there he never told me that I needed cash (he didn't accept debit or credit cards and that is something he never told me when I dropped off the shoes). So when I came back with cash, he had no change. So he insisted that I buy something else in the store. The total of my purchase was $16, and I had a $20 bill. At that point, I just told him to make me a key and to keep the extra change. When I finally got the shoes they weren't fixed. The shoes had broken elastic, and I noticed that he had just put glue all over the elastic in order to fix it. When questioned about why he only used glue, he refused to tell me about how he fixed the item and said that he would charge me money in order to learn how to fix shoes. It was my first time using this gentleman, and I will never ever go back. His store is cluttered and it smells terrible. And I don't think that he is a very balanced person in general. I very much support and appreciate small businesses, but I cannot support this establishment because of the lack of customer service and the fact that he never fixed the item that needed to be fixed and he still charged me full price.
