Worst experience I’ve ever had at a retail store. I bought an item and the cashier gave me the wrong product, but still charged me for the one I actually wanted. I had to waste my time driving back and forth just to get their mistake fixed.
Completely unacceptable. I will never shop here again.

The ladies that helped me on Friday night were incredible! I wish I had asked their names. They helped me figure out a size for a product they didn’t have in store so I could order online and just chatted and made me feel so welcomed. I don’t shop in store much anymore, but they definitely made it a wonderful experience and made me want to go back!

Review of My First Visit to Madewell
I visited Madewell on July 21, 2025, during the early afternoon, and it was my first time shopping at this store, as there isn't one in my area. Despite not being a fan of shopping, I had a wonderful experience. The staff members were attentive and incredibly helpful, showing great patience as they brought me a variety of styles to try on. Unfortunately, I can't recall their names to personalize this review, but their kindness truly stood out. The exceptional service I received makes me eager to make the 90-minute drive back to shop here again.

rude employees, they ask if other customers needed help when walking in but not one comes up to me and asks while they just watch me walk around. i wonder why 😐

Went to the store today to buy ballet flats and I think I understand what other reviewers mentioned about bad customer service. No one greeted me or my family and anything I was interested in looking, none of the sales reps came to help with, instead I had to go ask for help each time. I could have gotten those flats online, but I still ended up getting them in store probably shouldn’t have with that customer service.

Don’t buy Madewell jeans! They are fraudulent about their return policy. I purchased two pair of jeans; one in the store at the St. John’s Town Center, and the second, an “exact same pair” in the mail, which was to be sent to the store for me. One pair was different from the other and they refused to honor the return. They tell me I need the receipt but sewn inside the jeans is their tag. The manager, Faith, was rude and obnoxious and unhelpful. I am getting my money back from American Express so I don’t give a darn about it, but I will never shop here again. And seeing the reviews, I see that I am not alone!

The sales associate Amy E. was so rude towards me. I wanted to get a pair of sunglasses but they were dirty. I asked her to clean them and she clean them with the bag that she then proceeded to put the sunglasses in the dirty bag and hand them to me. I’m really disappointed, especially because Madewell was one of my first jobs.
