I've had two instances where I had to bring my dog to Mandarin Pet Emergency Hospital — one time where he ate a sock a few years ago when he was only four months old, and more recently, when he experienced a bout of bloody stool after picking him up from boarding. Both times, it was late at night and on the weekend when our regular vet was closed. I was stressed and scared for me dog, but in both instances, the technicians and vet were so calm and reassuring. They were kind, listened, and provided detailed instructions where needed. Most importantly, they were successful in treating my dog in both instances. I can't imagine the difficult situations they handle on a daily basis in addition to late hours, and I'm so thankful for their expertise, patience, and kindness. I'll also add that their pricing seemed more than fair and reasonable for the services provided. I also appreciated that they followed up the next day with a phone call to see how my dog was doing. Overall, they made a difference in my best friend's life and health, and I hope they know how meaningful their work is. Thank you again for everything!

Overall 3/5. The vet techs were 5/5. Excellent, gentle and very pleasant. My complaint is of course the cost. We were given an estimate range for a cat’s urinary blockage of $1800 to a high estimate of $2200. Surprised that when I picked up the cat I owed $2400. When I called for clarification the justification was that the military discount brought it down to the upper estimate cost.Overall from other estimates I found I was significantly overcharged. Obviously that doesn’t come to play when finding an emergency vet in the late evening, but I likely won’t be coming back here. Thank you all for your help, but price gouging desperate pet owners isn’t how to make repeat business.

I had a a 5 months old German shepherd that got bit by another dog. So I came in to Mandarin Pet Emergency Hospital seeking some help. When we walked in there was only one client waiting in the waiting room. I walked in without my puppy and explained the situation to the front desk workers. She took my information and told me to wait. I waited for 58 mins out in there parking lot. Then I walked back in to see where are we at in the wait time. The girl said " you could bring him in I guess " so I brought my puppy in. He was in so much pain and was uncertain of what's going on around him. She looked at him with an attitude like he was a bother.. Never introduced herself to him. Or anything. Just asked me to put him on the scale. Then she aggressively interd his personal space to adjust the scale. So my puppy freaked out and barked at her. Then she took like 7 steps back and was like" oh hellll nooo I am NOT dealing with that!"I was in shock of the level of rudeness and unprofessionalism that she had. Then she walked away from us. She left us in the lobby just in total shock! Then the other lady came in and told me to take my puppy and go in to the room and asked me to muzzle my dog.I was like okay no worries. My dg and I went to the room I muzzled him and we waited another 20mins with my dog scared muzzled and in pain. Then another lady peaked her head on the room and she was so scared to see if he was muzzled. Then we had to wait another 12 mins. Then I had enough. I took my injury puppy out of that room and left to another emergency hospital that knew how to treat him. I would never go back to Mandarin Emergency Hospital ever in my life. The level of inhumanity that I saw from these people is beyond believe. Everyone that works in such area needs to know how to handle dogs. Especially injured ones . No matter what breed they are. But Mandarin Pet Emergency is DEFINITELY not the place. They do not respect the fact that we are desperately looking for help when we bring in our pets. They don't care about how the dog or the owner is feeling. You will be left there to wait for hours with a nasty tech/Dr or whatever the heck she was.

Brought my 7 month old puppy for a possible eye injury; I could tell he was in pain and our normal vet would be closed the following day. We arrived at around 9pm on a Sunday. They brought us back as quick as I could fill out the intake paperwork. Dr Greshake was kind and patient, he did as best an exam and testing as my dog would allow and ultimately gave a diagnosis. He answered any additional questions and I felt happy with what I understood from him. The bill was much cheaper than I prepared for and the techs were attentive and sweet. We were on the way home with meds within 45 minutes. I’m very thankful for the help they gave.

Frustrating experience because it felt like no notes were being taken by the staff while our dog was hospitalized for 2 days there. Every time we called to check on our dog the staff told us no notes were left by the shift before them and they didn’t really know. On top of that when I went to pick my dog up he had a raging ear infection that was left unattended for his entire stay. For almost $2k in medical bills I expected better. Only reason this isn’t 1 star is because my dog is healthy and on the mend and I am grateful for that. All in all this place is fine for an emergency but overall unorganized, expensive, and just not the best experience. Bottom line, for the amount of money spent I thought there would’ve been a bit more thoughtful care.

My Great Dane was showing signs of either bloat or a possible obstruction but as he is my first GD I wasn’t 100% sure. So I called before arriving to explain the situation and the front desk recommended we definitely bring him in. The staff were nice but overall our experience was not great. For an “emergency vet” the Veterinarian sure likes to take his time. Although he was gentle in tone, he was condescending when speaking to me and preferred to only look at and speak to my husband. Instead of focusing on the main reason we came in, he wasted about 15 minutes explaining to us the importance of my dogs dental health and how in a few years his teeth will be rotten and falling out. After criticizing us for brushing my dogs teeth instead of using “dental wipes” he then criticized us for not collecting a fecal sample since my dog had been having diarrhea. Not trying to blame anyone but the lady on the phone didn’t ask us to bring one and I wrongly assumed they’d collect it when they did my dogs examination. (The Vet also told me he personally trains his front desk staff to always ask for a fecal sample so he was insinuating that I was lying.) After they finally do x-rays, the Veterinarian asks us to take my dog out and collect the fecal sample! Anytime I’ve taken my dogs to our regular Vet, if we don’t bring a fecal sample their Technicians collect it. So the fact that he asked his customers to collect the sample after they already took my dog to the back exam room is crazy. (And of course they charge us extra fees for this fecal sample that we had to collect ourselves.) He then proceeds to tell me that the sample given isn’t diarrhea? Like I know the difference between normal stool and diarrhea. And he’s gonna say I’m lying about my dog having diarrhea the past few days? It was ridiculous. Ultimately they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my dog but I am happy to find out it’s nothing life threatening so I’ll be following up with our regular Vet. Not sure how this place is with routine check ups but I would not recommend coming here for emergency cases. I came to them for help and left feeling degraded.

The kindest most caring vet I have ever met. Staff is amazing. We took our bull terrier Rocky in as he was in congestive heart failure and the Dr tried to keep him as comfortable as possible hoping for a solution but by the time we got home they called to give us the heartbreaking news. They kept us abreast of every incident while we were there...just an amazing group. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you for all you did !!!!

Awesome place! and they don't charge you an arm and a leg!I came here at 11PM with my dog screaming because he injured his back. The lady in the front office was extremely nice and understanding, she even put a smile on my little sisters face. The doctor was super understanding and explained the x-ray to us. The vet tech who gave my dog an exam and gave him a shot was SUPER SWEET AS WELL! The young man who gave us the dogs medication was also super sweet. THEY WERE ALL kind and understanding. They also provided quick service and cheap as well. This is the cheapest emergency vet in mandarin!I would recommend this place for all dogs emergency needs. Call and ask for prices the front office lady is super kind!

We are so thankful for Mandarin Pet Emergency Hospital! The doctors and staff are so kind and compassionate. Our Garcia girl was bit twice by a water moccasin - after normal business hours, of course. We live near Waycross, GA and our local vets were all closed and unreachable. We were halfway to a place in Valdosta, GA when that office called us back and denied service because their “system crashed”. We u-turned it to head to Jacksonville while making phone calls and trying to find a place that would see us. Beyond thankful that we ended up at Mandarin Pet Hospital! Everyone was so communicative, and kind, and kept us informed at all hours of the day while she was there. They went above and beyond to put these worried pet parents minds at ease. Thank you so much!! You will forever be our emergency pet hospital of choice.

I called for a somewhat estimate over the phone because my small dog is vomiting and they guy that answered the phone stated that could be $1000-$1500 or more. I felt like he gave me this price so that I don’t go there, he had bo desire for my visit and he was very cold on the phone Lol. I hope the owner of this clinic sees this message! Shame on you.

My heart goes out to the vet techs who have to spend the most time with folks who are grieving or making hard decisions, and who are subject to seeing folks' pets in pain day in and day out. I can't imagine I'd want to work in an emergency pet hospital, but I certainly appreciate that you do.My experience was quick, informative, and the two technicians on duty around 8 pm January 30th were incredibly kind to my pet- to us bothactually- for the duration of our stay. I wish I'd caught everyone's names, I do apologize. The vet who took care of my dog was quick but thorough.Thank you all for putting my anxieties to rest, and easing his pain and discomfort. He appears to be recovering just fine now.Additionally, I did not find the price for services to be unreasonable upon checkout.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here. Sunday night our sweet almost 14 yr old labradoodle starting running a fever, panting, lethargic. I was panicked! We brought him in at 10 pm and were immediately seen By Dr. Greshare. He was so gentle, compassionate with all my tears, and calm with my pup. My boy suffers from anxiety but he worked with him to keep him calm and comfortable. He kept reassuring him, saying you are ok, etc. We needed to leave him overnight, which worried me as to how he would do, but when my boy is nervous and doesn’t want to be taken from me he sits so he doesn’t have to walk. Dr. Greshake recognized this and had the tech wait for us to leave so he would be more likely to go with him, and he did. I am so picky with my boy but knew he was in good hands. He called first thing the next morning to give me an update and I was able to pick him up that afternoon. During a very difficult time, he was just what I needed to help me stay calm!

So helpful - they were lifesavers! My very reactive and bitey senior dachshund somehow got out of his cone and I couldn't get it back on him myself. He was in it to treat a deep eye ulcer, so I was panicking. Tiffany and another kind associate worked together with me to distract him and get him back coned up. I can't remember the last time I was that relieved! At 9pm on a Friday night, I would have been lost without them.

My mom has used this vet for emergencies several times and trusts them, so I brought my dog in last night after she fell to the ground, crying and writhing in pain, and was unable to walk on her back leg. I called before coming to make sure they could see her since I live in another town and I was advised of the emergency fee when I called. The staff was friendly and compassionate. I forgot her leash and collar in all the commotion, but they had leashes with a make shift collar available. We were seen quickly. They x-rayed her and said it is a suspected ACL tear. I was referred to Dr. Erne, who has amazing Google reviews. She is home and resting, and I feel confident Dr. Erne will be able to get her back to her normal, active, happy life. Compassionate, knowledgeable, helpful emergency vet, open 24 hours and affordable (for an emergency vet). Highly recommend!
