I typically don't leave reviews, but I feel the need to share my recent experience to help other pet owners find the right vet for their fur child. It's crucial to find a vet who is both competent and compassionate, and unfortunately, my encounter with Dr. Joanne Connolly at New Day Veterinary Clinic fell short of these expectations.During our recent appointment, I showed Dr. Connolly an ulcer on the top of my dog's mouth. To my shock, she immediately declared it was cancer without any sensitivity to our feelings. Her blunt and indifferent manner left us feeling overwhelmed. She insisted we needed to get a scan with an oncologist urgently, emphasizing a hefty $2,000 cost. Her casual approach to the financial aspect was unsettling, assuming we had such funds readily available. When I suggested the possibility of doing a biopsy at their clinic before opting for an expensive scan with an oncologist, she dismissed it, claiming it would be a waste of our time and theirs. This left me distraught, feeling like my dog's potential cancer diagnosis was being treated as a minor issue.Adding to the concern, Dr. Connolly referred us to an oncologist who happened to be her friend. This raised questions about objectivity and impartiality in the referral process.Seeking a second opinion turned out to be a crucial decision. Beach St. Johns Animal Hospital provided the care and empathy that was lacking at New Day. He conducted the biopsy that Dr. Connolly denied, and to our relief, the ulcer turned out to be benign.Dr. Connolly's lack of sensitivity and negligence is disheartening, and I believe the clinic should reconsider their hiring practices. I share this experience to prevent others from enduring similar treatment and encourage them to seek reliable and compassionate veterinary care elsewhere.

I've taken my dog to different vets and they could never diagnose my dog's skin issues and as soon as I mentioned it, the vet investigated and diagnosed based on her experience. She then developed a plan to clear it up. Everyone from the front desk to the vet were friendly and professional.

This is for the whole new day vet clinics as a whole in Jacksonville fl, I’ve been a loyal customer since 2020 when I received the greatest most important living thing in my life “my doggie” he is well known at oak leaf and yes the service once seen is great and feels like they care but I just can not with the lack of urgency and the amount of time to wait to get an appointment. We are talking “weeks to months” just to get seen! It’s super ridiculous and highly aggravating. Especially when my dog went to er over the weekend for food poisonous to him and I get told to follow up with my vet and my vet says they can’t see my dog cuz they are always booked and i just want to make sure my dog will continue to live a healthy life! I even went as far as to try a different location ( the one on university) that’s waaaaayyyyy out of my way to get him seen and guess what I just got a phone call saying the vet called in sick and they canceled the appointment. Like the urgency of checking my dogs red blood cells is not there for them and it really takes away any good feelings I have for new day vet clinic. I will be looking into other places for vet options. Or I’ll just add on his pet insurance the stuff you guys offer in your wellness plan and go to any vet that isn’t over booked and under staffed for years and years. Get it together already please. A lot of animals depend on the service you provide and we pay good money to get seen and our babies treated. Smh I’ve been very understanding and patient with new day but enough is enough. Your company should focus on quality not quantity.

After taking my dog here for years, they were not able to help me with an issue related to neck pain. I had to go to another vet that could help, they ended up taking over care of my dog. I still bring him to pet paradise for grooming and I was getting the prescriptions filled here. I recently cancelled the wellness plan due to them not being able to help him anymore. They filled my prescription at that time which was a month ago. I called to fill again and they said they need to see the dog every 6 months to be able to fill. But they had been filling it until I cancelled that plan. Just seems to me this place only cares about the money. All I got was rude attitudes and being talked down to, very unprofessional. They don’t seem to care about loosing customers, or gaining new ones. I will not be bringing him back for grooming, or any of my dogs for that matter.

I was so impressed with my experience at the Pet Paradise Resort Jacksonville - University that I decided to bring my dog to the veterinary clinic next door to the resort. I was happy from the the first contact via email and then phone. The staff is professional and friendly. So refreshing to be treated as a valued customer and trust that your pet is in safe hands.
