Chris and the new employee were knowledgeable and treated me with professional care. I am getting my sod done tomorrow and we couldn't have done it without them! Thanks for wonderful advice and senior citizen discount. :)

What a disappointing experience with this company. I have dealt with them over the years for sod pieces and always found the staff to be very professional and helpful to deal with. So when I decided to re sod my yard, they were the 1st ones I looked to. What a major mistake. First we had an appt to come and measure the area, I called in the morning to confirm that we were still on and someone would be here at our appt time of 10am. After begin informed from the office that we are all set, 10am came and went. So I called back to followup. I was told from the office they would contact the estimator and she would call me back. An hour goes by and still haven't heard from anyone, so I called the office again and was told they would again contact her and have her get back to me. About 1pm that afternoon, she called me, informed she was not working that morning and that the office was not aware. She informed me that she could come now, I said OK. 10 mins later, she called back and said as it was raining (Light Rain)) that she needed to reschedule. We agreed to move the estimate to Wednesday at 9am. Well 9am came and went and she showed up at 10:10am. She walked the area and indicated she would get with the office and provide the estimate shortly, Well its now been 3 weeks and I have not heard or seen any estimate. What a total waste of my time. They have lost my business and more importantly the good will I share with Friends and neighbors.

I really enjoyed my experience with my sod replacement. There prices were very reasonable and the ability to get the grass quickly was outstanding. Dustin and Chris provided great commutation with the sod process and the delivery team. Although there were weather challenges, they managed to demonstrate exceptional customer service and essential details which made me extremely happy. I would highly recommend this organization because of the quality of service and commination with the customers. Phenomenal services!!!!

I ordered and had 5 pallets of Scott’s provista delivered from the Jacksonville location in mid December. I was very concerned about the weather forecast of the hard freeze warning for the day after my scheduled delivery. I couldn’t postpone my delivery. They were very helpful and friendly. They delivered as scheduled, the driver called to let me know he was on his way. The sod looked very fresh and the wife and I installed the sod over 2 days before the freeze. 4 moths gone by and the yard looks great! The 5 days of temps in the 20’s didn’t seem to bother the provista at all and it was much nicer laying sod in the cooler weather.

Overall phenomenal service and products! Thick sod with soil not like Home Depot and Lowe’s where it’s been transported and by the time it reaches to its destination it’s all spread out and ripped. Pricing beats any competitor hands down. Amazing service that treats you right. Will be coming back for future projects! Job well done! ???

BUYER BEWARE - they sell the product, but don't stand behind it. I bought two pallets of sod for delivery. The delivery driver was great and is the only reason I allocated two stars representing the first pallet - it was beautiful, thick, green pieces of grass, all uniformly cut. It made six perfect rows of grass when we put it down. The second pallet & the service is the reason they didn't get the other three stars. The top 25-30% of the pallet was broken pieces, none of which were bigger than a softball, mostly dirt and roots. The bottom 60-75% of the pallet were thin sections, mostly roots, with very little dirt and sparse grass blades. None of the pieces were a FULL piece and all were different sizes. It was like playing Tetris to put it down. They were all primarily brown with very little green in them and the pieces were all thrown haphazardly on the pallet, some hanging off the sides, overlapping, it was a hot mess to try to lay. It was like they raked up all the leftovers after cutting the first pallet & dumped it on the second one. To top that off it was full of little brown spiders, not just a couple, but hundreds of them once you got about 1/2 way through that second pallet. I called the Sod Lot and the person answering the phone told me that they only sell the pallets, that it isn't actually their product and they are not responsible for what is delivered. He told me to email pictures & my complaint to an email address he provided for the sales team. I have sent two emails & made several calls, no-one will respond. No communication back from the phone calls or the emails (which included pictures).I tried several times to resolve before posting a review, consider this a warning - Beware & buy at your own risk.

Poor quality sod. We ordered a pallet of sod from the Sod Lot about three weeks ago. It appears to be St. Augustine mixed with another kind of grass (or weed). Half of the sod is dying off and has not taken root at all. Most pieces can still be lifted off the ground. We ordered another pallet from another sod company the same day we got ours delivered because we ended up needing more day off. That sod from the other company has taken root and is bright green.

TL;DR: Don’t hire The Sod Lot. Apparently my situation is an outlier. Read my review and decide for yourself.-Can charge a credit card fast: We’re new to the area (military transplants). I had a rep come by our house to measure, and leave a quote. I called them July 2022 to book an install. Minutes after hanging up, credit card charged and receipt in inbox. This level of efficiency is never seen again.-Can’t communicate: On Thurs., we had 11 pallets of sod delivered, blocking our garage door. I was told installation would only take a day. On Fri., I called at 8:50am (spoke with Renee, very nice) and asked about arrival time. Told it’s normal to start around 10. Called again at 11:20am, Renee says they’re behind, but will arrive at lunch. At 12:53pm I got a call from a man who said a dumpster couldn’t be delivered, so they’d need to try again tomorrow. I asked about the sod sitting in the heat; company states you need to install the sod within 24 hours of delivery, but this guy swears you have up to three days.Same day 1:45pm there are 2 men in my yard tearing up grass. About 4:30pm, I was working and I lost connection. I went outside, confirmed they hit the line, maybe ten minutes later they had left without an explanation and sod still sitting in the driveway not installed like promised.-Can’t explain why their subcontractor steals: That afternoon, I checked on the guys periodically. I noticed some sod in the back of their truck that wasn’t there earlier. When I checked on the internet line, I saw an obvious missing pile of sod from the pallet closest to the street (see photos). The next morning, I confronted the same guy driving the truck, asking why he took our sod? He replied he was told to take 20 pieces by Dustin, and return 20 pieces later. I never got a straight answer about what happened.-Can’t manage customer service issues: I got to spend the afternoon and evening trapped in the house (pallets blocking garage), with no ability to work my job or turn in school assignments. The next morning (Saturday) a crew showed up around 7:30am. I spoke with Renee again, requesting to speak with a manager and with some persuasion was directed to the Regional Manager, Dustin. Told him about everything, and even though he personally had nothing to do with it, this was the first person to offer a sincere apology for the way I was treated. After he confirmed he spoke with the installer, he promised the job would be completed that day (it wasn’t), and I would be “compensated” for all the issues that had transpired so far. Spoiler, that doesn’t happen.-Can’t measure: They left that day after installing 11 pallets of sod, and I still had 1K sqft of our front yard that was bare (see photo). It was clear whoever came to the house, measured, and gave us a quote measured incorrectly.-Can’t right a wrong: Steven (manager), showed up Mon. to measure the bare spot and confirm the pallet count (3). He apologized for the chaos, and stated sod would be delivered and installed Wednesday (all at no cost to me). Tues., Steven called back, they couldn’t do the job tomorrow, but could do it next Mon. On Mon. 3 pallets of sod were delivered, but not installed.-Can’t follow their directions: At 3:30pm Tues. they finally showed up to finish the job. The best part was watching them roll heavy wheelbarrows over the grass that was just installed a week ago to get it to the bare spots instead of going around (see photo).-After the job was done, I asked about compensation. Apparently, our “compensation” was the sod and installation at no cost (their own mistake). I brought up all the other wrongs and they didn’t care. If the only wrong done was not measuring correctly, and they fixed it as they did, we’d be fine. But that’s not the case. Because they’ve witnessed our struggle over multiple weeks, our neighbors haven’t asked for their info to get work done, they’ve (unprompted) asked to ensure they never use them. I hope this doesn’t happen to you too.

TL;DR: Don’t hire The Sod Lot, or do so at your own risk. Company representatives tell me my situation is an outlier but read my review and decide for yourself. Find a comfortable seat, grab a snack, and pour yourself a strong drink. I did everyone a favor of breaking down this review into the 6+ things The Sod Lot did wrong, and the 1 thing they did right. In fact, let’s start with that. Can charge a credit card lightning fast: My husband and I moved to area a year ago because we transferred to a local Navy base. After buying a home with a yard that needed some TLC, I researched local companies who could transform our yard to match the glory of our neighbors. After I had a representative come by our house, measure, and leave a quote, I called The Sod Lot early July 2022 to accept the quote and book an install. We needed the whole lawn redone (over 5,000 sq ft) and the job included removing all the current grass/weeds, leveling the soil, and installing new sod. Within minutes of hanging up, my credit card was charged and a receipt was in my inbox. Had I only known, this level of efficiency would never be seen again. Can’t grasp customer service or communication: On Friday, July 29th, install day, I was very excited. I had 11 pallets of sod in our driveway. Since I was assured installation would only take a day, and we quickly ran out of room to store the sod, I agreed to have the delivery driver block the garage door; I was stupid, don’t trust them. I knew The Sod Lot opened at 7:30am, so I waited until 08:50am to call (spoke with Renee, always very nice) and asked when I should be expecting the team to arrive. I was told it’s normal for them to arrive around 10, even though I have a huge yard and a lot of work to do. At 11:20am I called again, Renee says she heard the team was running behind but they would arrive around lunch. Again, I stressed my concern about the size of the job and the dwindling time, but I was assured the team was up to the task. At 12:53pm I received a call from a man who explained the dumpster they arranged to be delivered was not going to work out, so they’d need to try again tomorrow. Decently upset at this point, but understanding of uncontrollable factors, I accepted his explanation. I asked about the sod sitting in Florida heat for over 24 hours (and would need to at least another 12). The Sod Lot states you need to install their sod within 24 hours of delivery, but this man said I actually had up to three days before I needed to worry. Resigned to my fate, I said I looked forward to seeing the job completed tomorrow (Saturday). Imagine my surprise, as I walk through the living room at 1:45pm and see two men in my yard tearing up grass. I check the street and see a truck with the company name on it, so good, these aren’t just two random dudes doing weird stuff. They worked hard for a few hours, and tore up most of the yard, leaving fairly neat piles of debris as they went. About 4:30pm, I was working (telework for the military), and I lost connection. Instantly, I knew they had hit our internet line. Before you ask, no, The Sod Lot never mentioned needing to mark utility lines. I went outside, confirmed they had hit the line, and went back inside to schedule a repair ASAP. I work for the military full time from home and take classes for my doctoral degree – being without internet is not an option. Maybe ten minutes later, I walked back outside to find them gone. No apology, nothing. Just cut and run, literally. Can’t explain why their subcontractor stole our sod: Throughout that Friday afternoon, I checked on the two gentlemen periodically. I had noticed some sod in the back of their pickup that I hadn’t noticed earlier. When I ran out to see if they had in fact cut the internet line, I took note of a pretty obvious missing pile of sod from the pallet closest to the street (I have photos). The next morning, I confronted the gentleman driving the company truck, asking why he took sod from our yard? He clumsily replied he was directed to take 20 pieces by “Dustin,” and return 20 pieces

Received two pallets of Zoysia sod this morning, the sod is very nice and healthy looking, the office staff and the delivery driver all very kind and helpful. The price point is so much more reasonable than any other place. I ordered from Jacksonville office and I’m very excited to have a nice back yard again soon!
