I took my 80 year old father in law to Uncle Davey's and I cannot say enough good things about this place. It really made dad's day. The history inside this building is amazing and the quality surpasses most museums I have ever seen. I cannot wait to go back again.

Dave Nelson is one of the most honest and well-educated men in the business. I've known him for 30 years and cannot recommend him enough.

Well we drove from Sandersville Ga, 4.5 hours and the place was closed, said it was open all day online.

One of the coolest hidden gems in Jacksonville. Dave was very nice and knowledgeable on many of his artifacts and collectibles. Definitely made you feel like family when you walked in. Will be going back again.

A terrific place honoring the past. The owner/proprietor is helpful and a real resource of information. He is fair in his dealings and approaches each customer in an open and honest way. Check to make sure the store is open and then drop bye. A real walk through the past. Well recommended.

I have purchased many, many items (all currency) from this shop, both at shows and in-store, and it has always been a great experience. Honestly, I'll continue to buy from this solicitor in the future. There was a time, though, that I had experienced some financial hardship and needed to sell some of my items. Particularly, one item that I had bought from this shop for over $400. Now, I know you can't expect to get retail price when selling to a dealer, especially with coins/currency, but offering less than 50% of what the item was paid for (which had been so long in the past that he didn't remember I purchased it from him) is unethical in my opinion.

Great place to learn some history and shop for unique historical items and relics. Been going there for over 20 years. Got introduced to the place when I was a teenager.

Dave has it all, a library of books, civil war money, guns, swords, Autographs, art and more. He’s a wealth of information and will spend as much time as you want answering questions and educating you. He’s truly passionate about what he does and loves to share. We needed up with a special purchase for a great price and will be back in touch! So glad we got to visit in person, well worth it. There are items outside of the civil war period but it’s mostly that timeframe. He ships to so visit the website as well! I saw 4 original Dickens books as well as many others I wanted to take home.

This store has everything you could ever want when looking for civil war antiques! I went in looking for some interesting artifacts and came out with a Union Navy coat button and a musket ball chewed by something on the battlefield, a testament to the myth behind the term "bite the bullet." Everything from rifles to binoculars adorned the walls, making this the most dedicated display of historical diversity I've ever seen.
