Iam reading those bad reviews and cant imagine. This place has been nothing but the best ever. My 8 week old puppy got attacked very badly. They took him right in without any questions and started working right away. They are actually the only place that didn’t question anything and new time is vital. Places would not take me oh they dont deal with trauma to the eyes oh we cant get you in blah blah. My puppy is here and being a puppy . Still healing but thanks to them healing properly. Thank you so much. The whole team is great

Edit: I spoke with Dr. Greshake. He was very apologetic and sincere. This was an admin staff error. I've moved his review from a 1 to a 3. I was not seen, so I can't review the quality of care my pup would have received. Unfortunately as a veterinarian, you're entire staff can cause a good review to be different.I'm traveling for the holidays. I called to make an appointment and told them what I needed for my sweet pup. I called on the way to say I was delayed 7 minutes due to a large accident. They canceled my appointment because the Vet felt it was too complex for him. (Abdominal drain due to heart failure) Petsmart/Banfield does it! What kind of veterinarian can't do this procedure? My vet tech back home does it. I would proceed with caution as I'm not sure they can handle real emergencies. Plus how awful to waste 2 days and let me drive for over an hour because you didn't feel like calling me. Disgusting!

We take all 3 of our digs to this vet. We have used them for emergency services as well as our every day vet. Been very happy with the staff and the doctor. Would recommend. Very pleased.

one of the worst experiences in my life. My 2 year old cavalier King Charles was convulsing and whining in pain. There was nobody in the lobby, the girl behind the counter showed no compassion during the entire episode. she went to the back and came back out and said the doctor will be busy for the next hour. oddly enough it was exactly 12 PM or what most of us think as lunchtime. I tried to explain to her that My 80 year old mother was getting back from dialysis at one PM And I had to take her to the emergency room because she had fallen last night and thinks she might have broke her leg good This is after her getting discharged from the hospital for the third time this year and this time she had been there for 13 days and received 9 transfusions. But she just talked over me and did that snap thing with her fingers and said Don't you raise your voice to me. I was panicking not shouting. Don't ever take your animal there during the Times that people might be eating

I previously left a different detailed 4-star review. After consideration I have decided to change that to a 5 star review due to Dr Greshake’s care he provided during that time. I hope that the staff he employs and every person in the industry provides the level of care he is able to.

More like, vet-doesn't-give-a-damn if you're not a current patient. Our dog chewed through his plastic collar after surgery elsewhere. This place was the only vet open Xmas eve. They REFUSED to sell us a collar because we weren't a current patient. If our dog chewed off his stitches, they'd be glad to help. Their suggestion was insane: tie a t-shirt or pair of underwear around the dog's neck to prevent chewing! WTF! Are they trying to kill the dog! NEVER use this inconsiderate and greedy business! Shame on these uncaring so-called professionals!

Our bassett hound was hit by a work truck in the neighborhood. Our local vet in Brunswick GA would not touch her due to the condition her leg was in with their weekend staff (5:00 in the afternoon). We called 4 other vet specialist in Jacksonville three of which were recommended to us by our vet or the previous vet called. None could handle her on a Friday night; they would need to bandage and hold her over the weekend per the phone call. When we called vet-I-Care the lady on the phone was very calming. They helped our sweet girl in a time of need. The wait was very minimal. We travelled an hour and 40 minutes one way. A drive we would take again if we needed to. Between the updates and friendliness of staff I can not be more thankful for this team!!

Would not recommend this place. We took our cat here a couple of weeks ago around 5 in the morning. She was in OBVIOUS distress - moaning, drooling and laying on her side. After ringing the bell and waiting outside for a few minutes, someone answered the door. After explaining why we were there, she asked if we had been there before or were current customers. I stated that we'd been there a couple of times before in emergency situations. She said she didn't know if the doctor would be able to help since he'd been in surgery since midnight and had to get up in a couple of hours for appointments. She went inside & confirmed that the doctor wouldn't be coming out. Then she opened the carrier, took a cursory look at our cat and commented that "her eyes weren't dilated, so she was probably okay." We took her to Capital Vets, just a mile or so up the road. They were wonderful and helped us make the difficult decision to put our 20-year old kitty to sleep and ease her pain. Will NEVER go back to Vet-i-Care - they are not truly "24-hour" as advertised and heartless & unsympathetic.

Thank you to the staff and the doctor for being so compassionate, patient, and kind. I couldn't recommend a better place. We had to put our sweet fur baby down and they made it as comfortable as it could be considering the circumstances. Highly recommend if you want people who care about you and your pet! I wish I could give 10/5 ? Thank you again for your guidance, knowledge, and empathy during this difficult time.

we could not have asked for a more compassionate group of people. had to take our sweet Charlotte over there during Hurricane Ian, and over the Buckman Bridge. They were accommodating and sympathetic to our plight. I will not hesitate to use them again in the future. Thank you

The 1 star I am giving is for the vet techs. They were very nice and comforting. My dog got into a bottle of ibuprofen on a Saturday night, it is unknown how many he actually ate. ASPCA Poison control referred me to a couple of places and Vet-I-Care was the only place able to take him. Being an emergency, I did not look at the reviews. After waiting 3 and a half hours, I was told it is recommended that he stays for 48 hours on fluids...there's $1,300 right there. Then I was instructed to bring him back in 24-48 hours for more blood work, there's $200 more. When I brought my dog home, he was acting strange and had a little bit of diarrhea. I brought him back for his labs and they recommend he stayed ANOTHER night on fluids stating he was severely dehydrated, another $800. I also live 40 minutes away from this vet and was asked "is it inconvenient for you to go home and get the medication we gave you", extremely disrespectful. I got a call from two separate veterinarians the next day, one telling me he is cleared to come home and the other saying they recommend he stay ANOTHER night, yet again another $800. The miscommunication in this place baffled me. I told them no and when I came to pick up my dog, the veterinarian did not even come out to talk to me. Please read the reviews carefully on this place. They will make you feel like everything is your fault and charge you for every little thing they can.McKenna Allen

Our 4 month old Frenchie was not feeling well this pass Sunday we called a few places who did not have availability and one place UNFORTUNATELY recommended Vet I-Care because we were trying to get her seen right away we did no research and went straight there. WORSE DECISION ever but I want to be clear as to why the staff was friendly and nice that’s not the issue however this place is MONEY HUNGRY it seems like everything they were doing was just trying to get more money out of you it’s RIDICULOUS PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. We were charged $100 for the examination which I understand after that we were told she needed X rays which was $210 they gave us a “estimated” bill which was $410 after the x rays we were told they have to be sent off to a “expert” who could give us more details but that was included in the $410 bill at this point we started to question everything why do we need to pay for someone to explain a x ray why is the Dr that’s already there can’t do that is he not capable of looking at an x ray and understanding it if not why is he working there it was then at this point i started to feel something wasn’t right and was doing research i saw a lot of people saying this place only cares about money and getting money out of you which started to make sense. After the “expert” gave more details about the x ray they wanted to admit our puppy overnight to monitor her give her fluids which would’ve been $1300 we politely declined after that we got the final bill which was $569 im like what happened to the $410 well because of our puppy condition it cost way more for the expert to give details we paid it and left. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was given to our puppy after spending hours and roughly $600 no prescription no medicine NOTHING we went there for NO REASON. I understand these people have to make a living but you charge me $600 just to tell me what’s wrong with our puppy. That’s absolutely ridiculous we went in there with a sick puppy and left with a sick puppy after spending $600 they did not care about actually helping our puppy they just wanted money after money. After we declined to keep her overnight we didn’t even get any help or information on what to do next. If you’re thinking bout going to this place I would ABSOLUTELY advise you to search elsewhere.
