I was in town for a few days on business. Never miss a workout, right? This was the closest real gym to the hotel, the location is super convenient and the view of the bay couldn't be better. The entrance is a bit strange for newbies as it's not on the front of the building, but around the side. The guy at the front desk was friendly and told me you get 2 free visits as a guest, then it's something like $20/day for a day pass. For that, you get full use of the facilities. The locker room was clean, although a few locker doors were off the hinges. I was only interested in the weight room so I didn't swim or play basketball. The weight area felt a bit cramped as it's a circle. So the dumbbell area has benches that are closer together at the head than the feet. There's a lot of equipment, but it doesn't take many people to make you feel a little claustrophobic. Go up the stairs and there's a 3-lane track with great views of the water. I did a mile after each weight session and it's better than hopping on a treadmill. It's not a meathead gym (which I prefer), but it's nice and clean with friendly members.

I've been a member of the Winston Family YMCA gym for a few months now, and I can't say enough great things about it! The facility is always clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. But what really sets this gym apart is the sense of community. From the group fitness classes to the supportive staff, everyone here is invested in your success. I've made some amazing friends and had some fantastic workouts. Plus, the variety of equipment and classes keeps things interesting and challenging. The Winston Family YMCA gym truly feels like a second family - I can't recommend it enough! 5 stars and a big thumbs up from this happy member!"

While the gym was lacking many machines and was extremely overcrowded I am leaving a 5 star review because Ethan & Leo went above and beyond to give us a tour and get us a guest pass even when we walked in to inquire while they were slammed (and without an appointment). Their passion for the business definitely made us consider a membership with YMCA and it's great to see that the company is treating their employees well. That makes the biggest difference!

I was a member of this YMCA from the time they first opened until Covid closed it temporarily and I haven't been back until now. It's still a beautiful facility. Nice parking available and located right on the Riverwalk so you have beautiful views as your exercise. The only real disappointed is some of the maintenance has not been kept up with, the locker room showers definitely need some updating. Some of the equipment is out of order and they all could use a good deep cleaning. On the positive side, the staff are so friendly and helpful and there is something for everyone from the indoor pool to the weight machines and of course, a number of all different kinds of classes. I noticed going at peak times in the mornings that the leg weight equipment will have a wait so it would be nice if they had a couple more of those popular machines. Overall I am really happy to be back and think it's still one of the best YMCA locations in town.

Not enough equipment. Half of the gym floor has a monkey bar taking up a TON of space and no one even uses it. Need to figure out how to add more machines because there is ALWAYS a wait for machines. At $70 dollars a month some changes definitely need to be made.

Last week I was at the Y and I felt very dizzy. My blood pressure had shot up. Thank you Theresa, Mari, and Megan. They checked my blood pressure frequently and made sure I was safe. They went above and beyond my expectations. Thank you.

3 stars based on the fact that it is often way too crowded. It seems like selling unlimited amounts of memberships is priority over a good guest experience. There is ONE sitting leg press machine for hundreds of people in the gym at any given time. It’s like the Hunger Games to find a weight bench or an 10lb dumbbell. Even at times outside of peak hours, I can’t get on the equipment I need. The 2nd floor layout is so cramped there is no such thing as personal space. I have often felt uncomfortable with how close people get to me due to the configuration of the machines being so close together. I like Brooks ymca a lot better, but this location is more convenient so I endure the crowds. Lots of positives about this gym too, love the sauna, usually very clean, indoor walking track is a nice feature but the fact that I can barely get a workout done because it’s too crowded 90% of the time and there is not enough equipment on the weight floor are the main complaints. I do not enjoy working out here. Pack your patience and expect to wait to get on pretty much any machine except maybe cardio, totally killing your workout flow.

The pool was delightful during the family swim time. The life guards near the office help with our needs. The changing rooms, lockers, and shower/restrooms make it easy to take my grandson.

This is a really nice place with lots of activities going inside, a lovely location which itself makes your feel warm and fuzzy and happy.I played a badminton match over there and it had all things in place. I am considering joining it sometime later.

Great customer service. Quality pool, sauna, the small track on the third floor, the masseuse on staff, and the weight room. Great experience, clean facility. My youngest kids enjoyed the park located right outside the main entrance. Btw, the juice area has super tasty wraps and brownies lol

They have the Wellness program there run by Books Rehabilitation. I enjoy therapist that run it and the patients that participate in this program like myself. All of the YMCA associates are also helpful and very professional.

I visited this location on the advice of my PT that says the YMCA would be beneficial to my health situation. I decided to take a tour, and I loved it! The CS employee Naomi, who took us on the tour was awesome! Very detailed and thorough. She explained everything I needed to know to join and enjoy the facility from A to Z! She deserves recognition. I'm currently in the process of joining! My kids love it as well. I've used the facility with my temporary pass, and let me tell you....it's worth joining, with everything there is to do. Very clean. Employees very courteous and helpful within the facility as well. Plenty of parking, have a Brooks Rehabilitation within, and a smoothie shop as well. Has two pools (lap and family), a basketball court, gym, indoor track, sauna, steam room, family locker rooms (in addition to men and women), daycare, and more. Go take a tour, and fall in love.
