I will not write a long review because I think the attached pictures speak for themselves. We stayed in the Caraïbe room. The first photo is posted on the hotel website for that specific room, the second photo is what is actually looks like. Such blatant discrepancy is really unacceptable.
Otherwise the location is very good, the grounds pleasant and the staff was very good too.

Okay so I read the obvious Karen”s one star review. Absolutely ridiculous. You’re in a hotel…. Ummm I don’t think I’ve ever in a completely silent hotel. Some people will always find the negative in everything.
Let’s get down to business. This hotel is an absolute gem! It’s our favorite! It’s QUIET, CLEAN, and private. It’s breathtaking. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing time this is your place!! Everyone that works there is so kind and helpful. The rooms are so clean. We stayed on the backside of the hotel facing the water. It had a little living room, a refrigerator, dishwasher everything you would need for a stay. They provide WiFi and free washer and dryer on property and they provide the detergent and dryer sheets. That’s so awesome.
So if you’re a human that goes through life with a glass half empty…. Please do not jade this beautiful property for others. It’s not fair. We will always come back here!! It’s a little slice of paradise.
We are at a few great restaurants, Snooks it’s on the water they have great food and great music!! Joe is awesome!
Ziggy Mad Dogs is excellent, the Italian Company Rocks!!!
There is also an amazing Indian restaurant excellent food and service. Called Zaika it’s right down the street. So good!!

Walls are PAPER thin, so be prepared to hear other people doing things to each other that might make you want to vomit in your mouth that you really don’t want to hear. If you’re on the bottom floor, expect to hear footsteps and talking through the ceiling from the room above. Front desk’s policy on noise complaints during the daytime was that they don’t care until nighttime. Rooms are awkwardly-shaped and and overall property is not ADA-friendly at all. Kind of feels like a private residence that was subdivided into units more than anything. Security is pretty nonexistent. Definitely more of a “couples” resort. Been here twice, two very different experiences, the second of which was pretty traumatizing. Property looks nice in photos but the niceties stop at the surface level. Wish I could erase this place from my memory to be honest.

My husband and I have never been to Key Largo and didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the Royale room and loved it! The view is picturesque and the property itself is very clean and quiet. So nice to get away and feel like you are on a private beach. The AC and hot water worked amazing. They have paddle boards and kayaks to use at no cost. We were also able to use the pool next door. The staff was very friendly! The general store down the street is a great place to buy gifts for family. We recommend The Big Dill for happy hour and the pizza is great. Highly recommend Sal Ballyhoos restaurant just down the road. The crab legs and mac and cheese were fantastic! We would definitely recommend this place for anyone want to get away for a relaxing getaway!

Horrible place. Never cleaned my room. Not a resort at all. Water was cold. No alarm clock .hung clean room sign on my room but never showed up. Etc but don't have all day to explain everything. Owners need to rethink priorities and put some $ in the place. Ps hold lever on toilet for until it flushes. Bahaha.

I hesitate to give this place 5 stars, as it may not be available next time I want to visit. This charming little place, conveniently located towards the north side of Key Largo on Hiway 1, was all we needed to help enjoy our stay.
Beautiful landscaping and a scenic view of the sunsets are just some of the reasons to want to come. Amenities such as a place for laundry and the convenient parking and a small beach help wrap up the reasons, but the people we met there are top- notch, very classy people. Both staff and guests.
You can bet that in the future, we shall be checking this place out first.
Thank you, Azul Del Mar.

Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip due to an emerging medical issue. The general manager, Therese, was not willing to refund our first night, even though it was still 10 days away. She agreed not to charge us for the second night (we had travel protection anyway) but it reflects very poorly on the property. All our other hotels were very understanding and accommodating. I would have liked to stay here when my health improves and we can rebook our trip, but I feel that they are not concerned about customer satisfaction or relations. I know it’s a business and they are there to make money, but they have plenty of time to fill that reservation. Greed vs compassion.

We were at this resort about 15 years ago and wanted to book for a couple of days after a cruise. I'm glad we did. It was very relaxing and local restaurants were great.

I would give less stars if it was possible. Our first engagement started with our call to the resort on March 19,2025. The woman who answered the phone in the morning was the rudest person ever. Apparently this person is someone who shouldn't be engaging with the public or needs to learn hospitality. She hung up the phone on us when we asked a question & when we called back she would just hang up the call on us without even answering it. Eventually when we called back & the same rudest person wouldn't give her name nor those of management.
While this may not represent the view of the resort, it does set the tune as to what we would expect being there if we had stayed. There are better options in Key Largo without having to deal with the horrible customer service & experience.

We got to the property a few minutes before check-in time. It's a self check-in property which they told us. We also received the code in advance which was good. When we arrived, there was a plumbing truck there and they were servicing our room. There was a.women with a clipboard who told us that they would text me when the room was ready so we hung out in the lot and there was no text. I called the phone number a couple of times and finally they unlocked the room.
We booked the La Palma suite which wasn't the priciest but since we were only there for one night, we figured it would work well for our purposes. What we didn't plan on was the smell of urine which infiltrated the room. The housekeeper had poured a lot of cleaning fluid in the room so when you first walked in, that's all you could smell, but after a few minutes, the urine smell took over. We thought that it could be the A/C or the air filter that stunk so we tried to disconnect each of those but didn't think it helped. By now, we were late for the event that we traveled for, so we had to leave right away. When we got back later that night, we tried to continue to spray scents, unplug the A/C & filter again and even left the door open for a bit. Nothing helped.
We left super early the next morning as we both had a headache. I contacted the property twice and received no answer so my assumption is that they don't care. It's too bad as the location is right on the water.
My thought is if they had to call the plumber and there was an issue, they could have told us and let us make the decision rather than take our $300 for this type of experience. Or. if they weren't aware, then they should have at least responded and apologized.

Lots of opportunities right at the property. Caught a few small fish right off the dock.

Great surprise. Just looking for a hotel near John Pennekamp State Park for an early snorkelling trip the next morning. However when we arrived to our beach facing room with separate living room, micro, etc, we were pleasantly surprised. A private dock and beach to watch the beautiful sunset. We later spent a week in Key West and our best sunset was here! No check in, digital key --very convenient. Very private. Highly recommended.
