If I could leave zero stars and leave a review I would. I came to this resort with my husband. He was a guest speaker at a conference for the evening. The event team invited me to come along and told me I could have dinner at the bar while I waited for him. The bar tender let me know that it is a cashless resort and they would not serve me. She had me talk with management who also informed me there would be no exception and they would not serve me.
I have stayed at some of the finest hotels around the world and I am amazed that this little hole in the wall treats the guests on their property this way. As a resident of Miami we have such lovely and wonderful places to stay. This is not one of them.

I am giving the resort 1 star for the efforts in up-keeping the grounds.
I was not ready to step into 1989 with the worst rooms and bathrooms you can expect. The gym is ridiculous and “ocean views” end up being on a volleyball courts. Do not book your stay here unless you want terrible service at any of the restaurants (although there is a pretentious dress code) and with any employee you encounter (speeding golf carts driven only by employees) on top of unsustainable air conditioning blasted over you everywhere. Book here if you like vacationing like it’s 1984. I am not posting photos because everything is too sad. I will never come back here

We just completed our stay at Ocean Reef Club.
Pros: Excellent food and service. Beautiful grounds. Well kept.
Cons: Some laziness from the amenities staff. Chip was in charge of kayaks. Perfect weather. Told us at 2:30 PM, “Ocean is closed. No kayaks.” What? Then his supervisor showed up and suddenly he was open again.
Boat rentals on site. James (in charge of boat rentals) would not return calls or emails about booking a boat. Even the concierge tried to help, and James was completely unresponsive. We were supremely disappointed. Tainted our view of ORC big time.

Pull out bed was not a pull out.
None of the phone were working, cell phone use had to be establish communication at 9:50 pm
At approximately 9:55 after been transferred several times I was able to communicate to with front desk.
While room was Booked for 4 people only 1.5 Beds were available
Front desk was called at 9:57 pm informing them of the issue
Only accommodation was a foldable bed
An inflatable bed was brought front desk lacked the courtesy to inform
Front desk was informed, 9:57 pm that a n inflatable bed was not an option for our family.
Regina offered room 208 in the same building stating pullout bed was available.
Arrived in room 208, it was set up for another family with welcome note included (see pics below).
While Regina tried to be accommodating, unfortunately she was stuck with a problem that should never been an issue.
Our family has stayed at the JW Marriott, The Breakers, The Cloister, Sea Island…never have my children slept in an inflatable bed. We did not leave the comfort of our home to come the renown Ocean Reef for this experience. Ocean Reef is known for its service and once in a lifetime experience. We are paying Ocean Reef prices at Holiday Inn Accommodations.

Course is OVERATED!!Nice course but typical Florida golf.little on short side ,layout is OK nothing special! Greens are Fast .But Not worth 1.5hr Drive .PLAY DORAL INSTEAD

My wife's company had a retreat here and I had to shoulder the burden of enjoying this beautiful, peaceful spot of heaven with the most attentive staff!!The days slipped by in a blur of contentment fueled by incredible food and heavy poured drinks!!The daily live entertainment poolside was fantastic and not obtrusive in the least.Had a great day on the water with Mike and Alex from Mr. Nice. Definitely use them for deep and flats fishing.

Delicious food, wonderful service in a terrific ambiance. We all thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers and entrees, as well as, our refreshing libations.

Our favorite winter escape! We go every year for about a week. It's such a relaxing luxurious time at the pool. The staff is totally professional and super friendly. Riding around on golf carts bombing around to different restaurants with friends is the absolute best!

Horrible experience was a guest here tried ordering food, security guard yelled at me for driving up 2 miles to the entry gate to grab my food. They abuse their power here and treat you like a cattle. The friendly people were the regular foreign employees working in the restaurants.

First off they don't abidde by Maritime Laws . If you are taken there in distress by Coast Guard you will be treated like trash . My son was taken there when he got caught in a bad storm and he lost all power to his boat and his saile tor up . They got there after dark evening was closed and they had law enforcement and game warden there was treated like a criminal . They finally let his boat spend the night but he was Not allowed to stay on his boat he had to leave the property until morning to work on getting his boat fixed . They gave him old couch cushions and a sheet to cover up with and made him sleep off premises on the street like a homeless person . They had security check on him every hour to make sure he didn't go sleep on his boat . They need to check out the Maritime Laws since at first they wasn't going to let Coast Guard dock him there overnight . There was no call for making him and his dog sleep on the street instead of his own bed . The bad thing is he is on his his maiden voyage and had never sailed before . Leaving Tampa Bay to Saint Augustine to come help me due to my medical conditions. The management there has no passion for humanity. I would not refer anyone to go to this place . Not when you kick someone who just needed to dock for a few hours till he could get a new battery and fix his sail . Pour excuse for management .
