This was our first time staying at the Opal Key Resort. We loved the size and view of our room, however the bathroom was very dated and we were disappointed that the kitchenette in our suite didn’t have any cutlery, plates, bowls, napkins, etc nor did it have a sink as were portrayed in the pictures on the website. The pool area was beautiful and Ryan was very accommodating and made excellent food recommendations. The Bistro was also delicious as were the drinks at the pool bar & sun deck. The resort location is perfect and we look forward to returning next year!

Excellent resort, bwe had a great experience. Location is perfect, staff was friendly and attentive, property is clean modern and just the right key west vibe. Cruise ships do dock out front but we had a marina view and it was a non issue. So many little quality touches... We will be back.

Everything was awesome, however for the cost of a suite, the room could have been just a touch better. Multiple outlets in the master bedroom didn't work in the USS Maine Suite causing us to have to share and switch the only outlets that worked, hard to do with cell phones, hair dryers, curling irons, etc while trying to get ready. A dresser door handle repeatedly fell off, the toilet paper holder was broken and dropped the roll anytime it was used.

Perfectly centrally located!! Walk everywhere or a quick bike ride ? I have had a pool view and marina view and loved them both. Coffee in the lobby, had grocery delivery and sunset view from the 2nd floor bar is awesome!! Room have everything you need. Only downside is toilet paper is terrible, buy your own, lol seriously though.

We stayed here during our first trip to key west and were pleasantly surprised after reading many negative reviews online. We let the concierge know we were visiting for our honeymoon and they upgraded our room to a king suite, had a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates waiting for us, and gave us vouchers for daily breakfast ($25/person) at their onsite restaurant. The room/property was clean, staff were friendly/helpful, and views were one-of-a-kind. They offer the following complimentary beverages to guests: bottled water or flavored sparkling water throughout the day, fresh squeezed orange juice or coffee each morning, frozen fruity beverage (non-alcoholic) in the afternoon and a popsicle poolside at noon. Food at their Bistro 245 was so good! Options were few, but they had the basics for breakfast: pancakes, omelet, French toast, sampler platter, and even a lobster Benedict! One thing to note: large cruise ships will dock right behind this resort, often blocking your view of the ocean for a day at a time (we stayed Sat-Tues and had cruise ships there all day Sun and Mon). But there’s plenty of good views of the marina or nearby resting spots without the cruise ship in your view if you don’t mind venturing out of your room. Our rate came with a $100 credit to use at any of the resort vendors and they even texted me the morning of checkout to remind me of the balance I had remaining to use in an effort to encourage me to spend rather than lose it.The rooms were clean and towels were excellent quality! Soft and thick. If I had to find a negative, it’d be that the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine, but it worked like a charm.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would room here in the future if we ever ventured to Key West again. ❤️

Room 311 was full of cockroaches! We definitely didn’t pay for the motel. Carpet in the hallway on 3rd floor smelled. Swimming pool is old, small and overcrowded.Room 381 please consider to NOT pay for the ocean view room as whole day until 4 pm there are big cruise ships on the way to your view. Very disappointing. Rooms are old and wallpaper is coming off the walls. For sure you can find a better place for this money.Good things : location, food in the restaurant was ok, ice cream near the hotel, free bottled water.

We wanted to love Opal Key but our room was ant-infested and not clean. We stayed in room 355, a two bedroom suite - the carpets felt old and grimy, the bathroom cabinets were peeling and in bad condition, and there were ants - first they showed up on the nightstand between the beds, then in the living room - the problem got worse and worse each day. We have 3 young kids and did not want to be exposed to antkiller chemicals - by the 4th day there were ants on our luggage and I even found one on the bed. We spoke to a manager Adam who to his credit tried to be helpful and refunded us $400, but given we spent $5500 for 4 nights and the awfulness of the experience, felt like not quite up to standard of quality that is advertised. I filled out a survey after and requested a response, which was “we appreciate the feedback and hope you enjoy the property better next time.”The location and the service were good, but not worth the dilapidated condition of the room and the ants everywhere.
