Great service at a reasonable price. These guys knowledgeable and easy to deal with. I know they are busy but still made it feel like a small town garage where you are treated like a neighbor. I’ve been to other shops in the area but they have been the best. Even fixed some issues that were fixed incorrectly by others. Definitely recommend 👍

I recently had an outstanding experience at Shifting Gears Automotive in Stock Island, and I feel compelled to share it! Just two days before my visit, I called to order new tires, and I was impressed by their exceptional customer service from the start. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive, making the ordering process smooth and straightforward.
When I arrived to have the tires installed, the team greeted me warmly and made sure I felt valued as a customer. They were not only flexible with my schedule but also efficient in getting me in and out quickly. I appreciated how they respected my time and ensured I had quality tires ready for my vehicle without any hassles.
The speed and quality of the installation were impressive. The entire team showcased a high level of professionalism and expertise, and you could tell they take pride in their work.

Thank you Steve! We are so grateful to Steve for checking out our van before we took a 1500 mile trip home. Check engine lights came on while on our way down, transmission making noises. KW Dealership gave us a date to just check the codes a month away. So kind to take the time and his efficiency in explaining the situation was detailed. Highly recommended this authentic mechanic!

Merry Christmas to these nice people at Shifting Gears Automotive.
On 12/24, Our car battery died after we did the kayaking, we walked to this auto shop asking for a jumpstart. I’m happy they were open and they immediately walked over to help us. We offered payment but they insisted on not taking anything. He also offered advices on how to prevent it from happening again.

I had an excellent experience with shifting gears automotive! My car was having some issues, and they quickly diagnosed the problem, explained everything clearly, and got it fixed in one day. The staff was professional, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make sure I understood the repairs. The quality of work was top-notch, and the pricing was fair. I’m so relieved to have my car back in great shape, and I highly recommend this shop to anyone needing reliable and trustworthy service!

I have to say, these guys Rock! I pulled up for a 1:30 PM appt on October 2nd 2024. They were ready for me and started immediately even though all hands were busy in the bays working on other vehicles. The manager and his assistant came over, hooked up the equipment and told me what's going on. In a out 40 minutes we are all done and the job is a success.we got our AC charged, checked and working like new. We really needed this before our long journey back from Key West the following AM. The AC failed us on the trip down 2 days prior in 107 feel like temps. It was brutal. They are the real deal! Wish they were up in my neck of the woods in SC. Great team, exceptional service!
