Sugar Apple Organic Cafe & Market, founded in 1993 by Phillip and Tina Crumbley, is a welcoming spot in Key West dedicated to promoting good nutrition and holistic living. Tina, a PhD in Nutrition, and Phillip, with a degree in Chemistry, bring their expertise to offer healthy, tasty, and filling food options. The cafe is known for its organic ingredients and vegan-friendly menu, including items like the FLT (facon lettuce tomato), veggie dog, pesto rice tofu, and fresh smoothies. Visitors often praise the friendly staff, delicious food, and the quality of the breads, which are toasted yet soft and filled with grains. The cafe encourages a return to the roots of good nutrition and holistic health, emphasizing the healing power of food as an alternative to fast food and pharmaceuticals. While the atmosphere is vibrant and health-conscious, some note that food is served on single-use dishes, which slightly contrasts with its eco-friendly vibe. Overall, Sugar Apple offers a delightful, health-focused dining experience in Key West.
This was some of the most flavorful vegan food I’ve ever had. I got the pesto rice and a green juice. So much food for the price wow I’m so happy right now Updated from previous review on 2026-07-20

Not a fancy restaurant, but a place with good vegan food while in key west. Limited bar seating and outside seating available. There’s a market next door/apart of it. This is health-store-vegan-grunge vibes, but food is good. Came for lunch and picked up Togo on our last day. Enjoyed both times.
