Thank you staff of Candlewood Suites in Lake Mary for treating us like family while working around Orlando. You have made us feel like family over the 15 years. We will miss you after we retire.

Would I stay here again, yes. Are there some issues, yes. I have seen some complaints about the rooms. My room was clean and did not smell moldy. I was happy with it. The issue, I was right on the corner where I-4 was so there was definitely traffic noise though. I was able to sleep but it was a bit annoying. Staff was very friendly to me, no issues there. Candlewood is in the hotel class that usually has a breakfast option, the fact they don't have anything is a negative. Also, the hotel is in like an L shape and the entrance to the hotel is right by where the two sections meet so people sit out there and smoke and the building traps the smoke there. So I had to walk through a wall of smoke to get inside. However, I got a clean room and it was not expensive so I would probably stay there again.

I have to agree with previous comment the check in and check out was good as soon as I walked in the room I smelled mold/mildew I was going to stay an additional night however smell was all in my clothes I notified management she stated that there has never been a complaint about smell but looking at other reviews she didn’t say the truth She stated she would call me back but I of course I knew she would not Will not be staying here anymore at this locationIt looks like Tonya only responds to good reviews she doesn’t respond to the guests who had concerns with their hotel room such as the room smelling like mold/mildew and not calling the guest back as promised

Not a good hotel unfortunately. Pictures speak for themselves. I just wanna start off by saying that I love Candlewood and I would go on my way to stay at one, but this one in particular was not up to standard. When I first walked in the AC unit was stuffed with some weird leftover food/something. That was the first red flag. Second red flag was when I walked in the room smelled like moist/mold immediately knew that this wasn’t going to be good but check in and check out front desk were wonderful but that was the only thing good about the hotel bracelet left behind hair on the toilet paper Ended up canceling our reservation for the rest of the nights and booking somewhere else

Not a bad motel but its location on the side of the highway is terrible. Listened to the sound of cars rushing by all night.Noteworthy details: Very noisy. Hard to sleep

This hotel is conveniently located. The room was very clean, although the entire facility could use some updating. The elevator does not work from the first floor unless an employee goes up to a floor and brings it down. The button is broken and, according to a previous review, has been like this for at least two weeks. Free coffee is available in the lobby, but for me, it was undrinkable. The snacks in the lobby were limited in the lobby store. The kitchenette was convenient. The bathtub faucet dripped, so notified the front desk. Water pressure was weak in the shower. The room was very quiet. The price was reasonable, so it was worth the stay.

I've stayed here probably over 20 times in the past few years because the location is exactly where I need to be, the price is hard to beat, and once you get past the often awful customer service, the frequently broken elevator, and the generally worn, broken, and poorly maintained condition (I've had to replace the smoke detector battery in a room when it started beeping in the middle of the night, not once, not twice, but at least five times during my stays), the rooms themselves and the cleanliness are decent when considering the cost relative to other hotels in the area. However, this place has been steadily declining for years. I've finally reached my limit.I booked a room for a single night via the IHG rewards website and received proper confirmation. The hotel clerk (Jeremy, I believe is his name, but am not entirely certain), whom I've dealt with multiple times both on the phone and at the hotel, and who lacks any customer service skills and acts like you're a nuisance, said the rooms were sold out. He merely shrugged his shoulders, said there was nothing he could do, and offered no alternatives or suggestions. In contrast, I once had a similar situation at a Hampton Inn where they were extremely embarrassed and apologetic and began making calls to other Hilton hotels in the area. My kids were hungry and exhausted, so I decided to not push things any further, to just let it go and accept it for what it was, and pay a ridiculous amount for a last-minute booking at another area hotel. However, before I left, I made sure to ask, "I'm not going to be charged, correct? Or do I need to call IHG?" He assured me in an irritated tone that I wouldn't be charged. Sure enough, I was charged not for one night, but for two. When I called IHG, they said the booking was changed from one night to two nights the following day. Meaning the day after I was turned away. This is highly suspicious. The absolute best case scenario here is that the clerk checked in the wrong person under my name without properly verifying the credit card on file. I opened a case with IHG, and they reported back that Candlewood Suites was refusing to engage and that corrective action would be taken against them. Since the hotel is independently owned, however, IHG didn't have the authority to refund me and told me to dispute the charge with my bank, and that they would cooperate in an investigation. So now, I have an ongoing case with Chase. This whole fiasco has cost me at least five hours in customer service calls so far, and Chase just requested more documentation. Whether or not I can afford to lose $200 is not the point. I won't. I'll be taking this matter all the way to court if necessary.Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. For IHG, the Holiday Inn in Sanford is worth the extra cost, on every point (cleanliness, upkeep, customer service, etc.) If you want to stay with a lower cost, The La Quinta not even a minute more down the road from CS does not have the kitchen, but it does have a mini fridge and microwave and is nicer with better customer service as well.

The hotel has seen better days; the lobby was the only clean thing, the elevator was broken, the room I was in smelled like someone had peed on the floor, and the carpet was nasty. The desk was sticky and still had old food on it. I saw a cockroach in the bathroom sink. I got rid of it, but still, the HWY was next to the hotel. It wasn't quiet, and I couldn't sleep at all. On my next trip to FL, I will never stay at this hotel again. This hotel should be demolished and rebuilt.

All we smelt was pot as soon as you walked into the building. Towels did not seem clean. I expected more for the area I was in.

Staff was very friendly and all of them responsive whenever I asked for anything, no matter it was about how to work with something in the room or if I asked for extra tissue or coffee. The room was very clean and spacious but the only problem was that the quin bed was small and if two people sleep on it, it would be hard to move during sleep. Another thing is that they clean the rooms only once a week so if u stay for short days and a short trip that would be perfect but for stay longer it aould be hard. Overall, I think it worth the price and I enjoyed my stay there.Rooms: Spacious and cleenNearby activities: GolfSafety: GoodNoteworthy details: Small quin beds

My husband and I decided to just get away for the night. Some alone time with each other and we had a great stayover. Very quiet. The staff, especially the front desk agent was wonderful. Being that I also work in a hotel as a housekeeping supervisor, I was very impressed. We had a Queen suite and it was very nice/comfortable. The bed was just a little hard for me to get up on because it's high and I recently had back surgery done and have a bad hip. But with the help from my husband, I was able to get on and off safely. But again other than that, we will gladly stay again. Next time it will be the whole family +plus our pet dog. Now knowing that this hotel is pet friendly???Thank you Candlewood.Be back soon❤️

I stayed here with my cat while evacuating a recent hurricane. The room was clean and spacious, the staff was very kind and helpful, and the extra charge for bringing my cat with me was very reasonable! I'm really grateful to have found this place during my time of need!
