The price they gave me ended up being something completely different the day of my move. They didn’t explain to me the packages and I was only moving out of a 1 bedroom apartment and priced nearly $700. I even had to help the guys out move my things because they were taking additional 2+ hours to move my things. It took them 2 hours to wrap my furniture. I was late to work too. Not using their services again. Only gave them 2 stars because the guys were nice.

I have used Start Moving three times already and every time they have been just perfect. Two of the times have been to move motorcycles that I bought. They handled them perfectly and with great care. They were tied down properly and with the correct straps and didn't leave any marks on my cycle at all.The third time I used them was to move a Corvette I bought. I was surprised they could even do this, but they explained to me they are a full service moving company. I guess that means they will pack and unpack your boxes and stuff, but I didn't realize they could even move a car! Wow did they come through for me. Once again they treated my corvette perfectly and without any problems. I will absolutely use them next time I need to move anything. Edit. This review was 7 years ago. They are under new ownership and I know nothing about them now.

My last review was removed after the company reached out to correct a tremendous error on their behalf - arriving with a too small truck for a 500 mile move, resulting in significant inconvenience to us (having to scramble to rent a large Uhaul trailer, paying for the trailer and gas to tow 2,500lbs and moving and hauling furniture with just one other person from their company as the other hired hands left). We also had damages to several pieces of furniture/property resulting from poor wrapping/protection/general lack of care--we even bought several blankets/bubble wrap/etc at our own expense, but it wasn't used properly. We were told multiple times that the process for reimbursement for our property damages was completely separate from what we were going through for the other issues. But lo and behold, once we agreed to remove our reviews and accept our reimbursement, our claim through the "completely separate" third party was filed as complete, with no payment for the damages (initially estimated at over $800 by this third party.) Now, no one from the company will answer or return our phone calls, and we have been left to deal with the damages. The glowing reviews are great until you're the one with damaged property and a terrible experience, and no one to answer for it.

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES-I had multiple problems with this company…. Firstly they completely overcharged me. Even one of the movers warned me that they would do this. Then they “ forgot”to charge me something and called me two months later saying they would take money out of my account. Then another two months later they decided they forgot AGAIN to charge me a month for the unit which I never got access to. Now I’ve had my stuff out from them for a month and I see a whole months charge on my account!!!!!! So unprofessional and had no idea what was going on. I told them I wouldn’t post anything because Destiny was so nice to me… but now they came back to haunt me a month after so I’m completely fed up and tired of shelling out money to this terrible company!

Victor and Dmetreus delivered our furniture today. They were absolutely amazing. Their professionalism and attention to detail was beyond expectations. I would rate them a 25 out of 10.

I had a great, easy move. Victor and Chris were amazing! They helped me get all of my things into storage and did a fantastic job fitting all of my stuff into my unit.

Needed some help moving into my 1st apartment. I'm currently a college student so I was on a budget and Moving Ahead gave the best quote. Absolutely no complaints, both workers were extremely friendly and outgoing + they did a hell of a job given it was raining ! 10/10 would recommend.

Making sure a long-distance move goes without glitches is hard. Moving Ahead was helpful and professional the whole step of the way. We had an interstate move with a fairly tight timeline and the only glitch was the some contracted unloading helpers showed up a bit late. We were very happy with the service.

I employed them to clean our house, ready for sale after we had moved out of state. We have just arrived back after a month to close and I am extremely angry with what I saw.For just shy of $300 I expected a clean house. Honestly I'm still trying to figure out what exactly they did for the time they charged. Absolute rip off. Windows not done, walls not cleaned where dog bed lay, fan blades not done, bathroom floors not done, shower not done.....I'm literally looking for what they did, still don't see anything.

The team showed up at our house on time and was ready to go. They were professional, friendly, and careful in our home as they unloaded a 16 foot POD and half of another in just over 2 hours. When we needed a large amount of moving debris moved, they quickly identified an available truck in the area and diverted them to do the pickup as well as get the last few items into the house. Overall I was quite pleased with this Columbus-area team and would highly recommend them.

I had been in contact with this company since February. We had a quote and everything planned. I had to change my move plans due to Covid-19 however I rescheduled the move redid the quote. The new destination is literally ten minutes away from where I was ( one exit away). My move was scheduled for 9 am on the 20th. After all of this back and forth communication and planning, the company calls me 17 hours before the move telling me their general manager told them I have to be charged an extra $100 fee. I get this call at 3:51 pm while I’m at work. Keep in mind that my move is 9am and they close at 5 pm. I was told there was an oversight or something. I still don’t understand what that extra equipment fee was for. Nothing about my move changed other than the dates and that I was moving 6.1 miles away. I was so disappointed and upset I told Heather that I would call her back. Frantically I start googling movers and my boss starts coming up with a plan B (him and the guys from work move my stuff lol). It’s literally 4:00 now and all of the local mover’s offices close at 5:00. Thank God I found a company that was willing to put me on their schedule less than 24 hours in advance. I was so upset with this company for the principle of the fact that the extra $100 sketchy fee should have been communicated to me back in February, it should have been included on the TWO quotes that were given to me, the last quote was given to me August. Also you don’t call a client an hour and ten minutes before the office closes, and 17 HOURS before a move to tell them their pricing is changing. At the end of the day it wasn’t even 100% about the money it’s the principle on how they operated and the stress they caused me. It is important to note that there are many offices. I’m not even sure if this was the office that was going to handle my move as I live in Brevard county. I just know that I was in contact with a woman named Heather from the beginning who did my quotes and that their company is Ohio based.
