We purchased a 5 chamber pet retort (BLP-750/150 M5) 2 years ago. With less than 2 years of operations we have just experienced our 3rd fire. We are fortunate that we've had no injuries or building damage. B&L has not been responsive and not honored their warrantee. The machine is absolutely poor quality, which is leading to the fires. The problems are poor quality brick, lousy design and poor workmanship. We are having it serviced by local experts to take care of the problems. Pet Heaven Crematorium, Calgary, AB, Canada

When it was time to purchase my own crematory equipment and after much due diligence I made the decision to use the B and L brand machine. I needed something economical yet efficient enough to meet the demand of our growing pet business. Two years later and hundred after hundreds of cases I can say with out a doubt the equipment performs flawlessly. From the first contact with miss Ellen and through all the questions and technical information I needed I found the company to be very proactive and very timely with needed answers. Startup was very smooth, they sent Mark who has a wealth of knowledge in the cremation industy and he fine tuned our machine for maximum efficiency. Starting a business from scratch always includes some missteps and obstacles arise thankfully the crematory equipment is operating as planned. I LOVE my machine…. Highly recommend this company for creamtion needs they are responsive to whatever you need… great customer support. I have zero regrets choosing them!!Compassionate Care Pet Cremation

Please contact me if you have had any issues with this company, we already have our attorney documenting all the back and forth. B&L has sent 4 technicians to our Crematory and our 5 Chamber B&L Retort is a smoking machine, making it impossible for us to cremate, we have to constantly shut down completely and open windows and our massive garage door in order to let the intoxicating smoke out. Now B&L is trying to say that it is an operating issue (Meaning us). The retort was poorly built, two of the four technicians have told us the retort need a complete rebuild, but they're afraid to say anything in fear of repercussions. We have major smoking issues, our doors do not close correctly, we have had hydraulic leakage, the computer needs to be updated because it's missing a lot of the functions and we're still paying and we're getting billed from the state because B&L does not know how to fill out an air permit correctly. This is the last email we received saying we can only put in 150lbs btw two chambers, wait till this is finished, and then put in two more. We have a 5 Chamber B&L unit, why would B&L even make such a retort if we can only use two chambers at a time?! SEE EMAIL BELOW Hi Paul, I can answer #1 & Hydraulic fluid invoice issue. Number 1 - Your machine is designed to burn 150# per hour. Make sure you are not exceeding this as it can cause issues. A facility in NJ was recently fined for exceeding the capacity of the unit they were using. For example, if you have a 100# animal in the front chamber and a 50# animal in another chamber, they will need to be burned almost all the way down before starting a new burn. If you overload the unit and try to burn too much at a time you may be out of compliance in NJ and the retort may not function as designed. As the first 150# nears completion, you can get the next 150# ready in other chambers then start as you remove the remains from the previous burns and so on. Let me know if this works better for you. The hydraulic fluid invoice for $53.30 will be credited to your account. Thanks, Scott Key Service Coordination Manager B&L Cremation Systems, Inc. Phone: 727-541-4666 ext. 113 Fax: 727-547-0669

I would give this company 1/2 star if possible. The BLP200 machine I ordered from them is junk. First a piece of the refractory lining comes out after 6 months of use, only to be told by the owner don’t worry we can fix that. Then after 13 months of use the blower motor fails and now it’s sorry you’re out of warranty. No discount, no offer of help. Here’s the price pal, sorry you got a lemon! Do yourself a favor and research other companies before wasting your money here. I also have a Matthews Unit. 10 years and zero problems! Buyers remorse would be an understatement.

Please Stay away from this company. Their machines are not well made at all, and at the end of the day you will have a giant paper weight. The owner Steve Looker doesn't give you the time a day nor does he know what he's doing, they don't know how to do air permits either. We paid over $2600 for our Air Permit back in August of 2019 and it's about to expire because Steve Kevin Looker doesn't know how to fill out an Air Permit. They have submitted the same Air permit Wrong 5 times, and now I received another bill for $1,483 for all the wrong re-entries, this is the first of many future invoice we will get from the city due to their mistakes. The Government office for our Air Permit told us that they have issues with B&L's permits all the time. Now we have to get a third party consultant, so we can get the permit done correctly before we have to pay another $2600 for a new permit. Another thing, when our Retort was delivered one of the metal pieces that are made for hauling the machine broke off as they were putting it on the ground, the company we hired to move the Retort were freaking out about what could of happened if the machine wasn't so close to the ground. Once our B&L Service representative came to look a last look at the retort, so we can turn it on and do training. He couldn't do the training becase he spent a day and a half fixing doors and loose stuff on the machine. We are now looking to hire an attorney. If you want to contact me before you buy a machine from these people, please message me we, we'll be more than happy to speak with you.

We've had one of the B&L N20AA machines for over 15 years and are incredibly satisfied with its performance. We just recently had one of the official B&L service technicians, Mr. Michael Lang, out to tune-up our machine and he exceeded our expectations in every way. B&L comes with my highest recommendation to anyone in the crematory industry.
