The absolute worst rental experience of my life at this location!! After reserving the truck with my bankcard for my daughters move into her first apartment, we arrived only to be told there was no truck available. We were treated rudely and no effort was shown to try and rectify the situation. We ended up moving in ours and friend's vehicles as best we could. Imagine my shock when I check my bank account and saw a $150 charge for a No Show Fee!! It took four different transfers on the corporate customer service line to get that corrected, so they are no better than the local rental location! Do yourself a favor and rent ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

Recently I stopped by to inquire about renting a truck. I asked what was the daily rate to rent the specific vehicle. As the young man was punching numbers into the computer, I asked a second time and he replied, “I’m working on it”. With that answer, I asked if he did or did not know the daily rental rate was. As he started to speak, his apparent Supervisor stepped up and said “every rate is different and depends on several factors.” My comment “Huh?”Over the last 30+ years I’ve rented many vehicles and until now, I never had anyone not be able to quote me a base rate. Sounded very dishonest to me, so after finally getting a price for a 2 day rental on their smallest box truck, I decided to go around the corner where I got a larger vehicle for not a whole lot more and for 7 days. Their Base Rates are plastered all over their walls, and their Trucks. SMH Huh?

On the website, when renting a car, it shows a bonus gift card from Amazon upon returning the vehicle. I rented 5 vehicles between October 3, 2023, and October 31, 2023. I have not received any gift card. When I called Budget about this, they said I must call Amazon about my concerns. If Budget has an agreement with Amazon, and they post this on their website, they should be required to follow up on their offer. Amazon customer service told me to call Budget.

If I could give a zero I would. We did a prepaid rental months ahead for a Toyota Camry or comparable. When we arrived we were give a dodge charger. NOT comparable to a Camry! Husband started it-engine was knocking. He said no way would he drive that car. Went back in. Was told, that's all I have, you don't like, I cancel. That was it-didn't try to help us at all get something from another location. I went outside, spent close to an hour in near 100° heat trying to figure it out. Customer service told me I could drive that car to another location to TRY to exchange it. Again, didn't try to help. We ended up leaving without a car. Two mins later there was a random $62.49 additional charge on our credit card! That charge did drop off. However, this cost us: time we could have been on the road already; mileage on our car(the reason we had rented); finance charges for the months the prepaid charges were on our card; the cost of an oil change because of the mileage on our car; stress and frustration when we were trying to start a much needed vacation after four years without one. THEN I had to be on the phone extensively to get my money back! DO NOT EVER RENT FROM BUDGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate having to leave negative reviews but I also would hate for someone else to go through what we did. It was a TERRIBLE experience and terrible start to vacation!

Had a truck reserved for 10 days at this location. We show up on the day and time for pick up and the person behind the desk was confused because THEY HAVE NO WORKING TRUCKS AT THIS LOCATION and she had NO RECORD of our reservation. Buyer beware.

Dont even bring ur business here. Try other locations. Check your bill after. Charged for extra 100 miles looks to be typo even after giving video odo reading. totally Unprofessional and irresponsible !!! Customer service is worst for budget as always.

I guess my fault for not reading reviews, but AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST!! Unprofessional, rude, gave me the wrong truck and then told me if I came back the next day I'd get the correct truck. Get there and then told they don't have it. Budget should re-evaluate this location and staff...gives off such a bad look for the company.

Worst rental truck experience at this location. Had a reservation for a 16ft truck. Didn’t tell us they couldn’t give us that, instead let us stand in line for 45 mins before we heard from someone else there were no trucks. When we asked the man behind the counter he said yeah no trucks. Walked out an hour before our movers were set to show up with no truck despite having a reservation. Luckily Uhaul down the road could set us up same day, no problems.

Disgustingly bad service all around from Budget and this local office. It reeked of weed and the guy couldn’t care less or be bothered to pick up the phone all day when we made numerous attempts to inform them that we were running a little behind to pick up our paid and confirmed reservation. I will NEVER book a budget truck rental again. Penske and U-Haul are the best.

Reserved a 16' truck a month prior. On day of pickup no truck despite staff reconfirmed reservation. Yet, they still charged me $75 cancelation fee. When I contacted the Budget 1-800 number, that associate refunded my fee. They said that they receive quite a few bad reviews at the Ulmerton Budget.

Don't rent from Budget. I went to two different locations today (this one included) after having a CONFIRMED RESERVATION for a moving truck and then I get here and they tell me they don't even have that truck. I don't know why their system would allow you to book reservations when they don't even have a truck? Waste of a whole day and a lot of panic before a big move. Absolutely awful

In the digital world customer satisfaction seems to have taken a backseat to shareholder satisfaction, as indicated by corporate profits over happy customers. The vast majority of difficult situations can only be relieved to the limits of corporate algorithms. We have all been subjected to the unpleasant outcomes given by company representatives who cannot, or more accurately, don't attempt to challenge the computer screen telling them what is possible. After rating the company's business practices and procedures as below terrible, I must, in all fairness, give an exemplary rating for the person I presented my concerns to when returning the vehicle. Sal at the Clearwater airport branch took a look at all the paperwork I was given and listened to a brief explanation of my confusion. His eyebrows knotted into question marks as he tried to figure out what had happened and why. He left the counter to speak with others in the adjacent office. He very quickly rectified the charges to reflect the original agreement, returning hundreds to my accounts. It is still people who make a difference. Hooray for Sal at PIE. I'd give Sal five stars, but unless he is promoted to a management position where his positive, helpful, friendly and caring attitude will guide all subordinates he supervises, he is unfortunately, an employee of the abhorrent guidelines directed by the corporate structure of Budget/Avis.

Completely unprofessional!! Samantha in the office was very rude very unhelpful very unresourceful. We made a reservation that they couldn’t honor, and instead of admitting they were wrong asked us to leave the building, treated us hostile. The area supervisor was equally challenged. Refused to listen or be helpful. Shame on them! And called the police. Would not recommend using this company. Penske may be a little more expensive, but definitely worth it. Would never recommend this 3rd party!!

Needed a car rental today. The young gentleman name Devonte was SO helpful with that. Initially didn't have a car but two SUV. He miraculously found a smaller Toyota Corolla. Awesome. He went out of his way to find the car and even cleaned it just prior to giving it to us. That's service ! Thanks Devonte!
