New president or whoever is newly in charge has turned office to garbage. They’re… kicking everyone out who’s been there for years, firing whoever they feel for whichever reason they please it seems. Office used to be up-kept better and staff and workers in the building weren’t losing their jobs like this until whoever this person is came around. They worried more about terms and decor than the actual quality of life and fighting for the community this place had built. Not very “for the people” if I do say so myself. I guess it doesn’t matter though if you’re not one of the people losing in this situation does it. …👍

My brothers and sisters work for our community, students, and parents. We believe that teachers and support professionals deserve excellent working conditions, fair and livable wages, and a government that works for the people, not private corporations. Public education is essential and our state constitution must provide equitable facilities and services for all. Helen Keller units is with her quote, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

Hardworking folks trying to help teachers even as the state does everything they can to abolish all protections that teachers have.

Support your union! It’s the only way you’ll ever see a raise or enforcement of the contract. For anyone not a teacher, it’s entity that is keeping most teachers in the profession when there are thousands of vacancies in the state.

I was with Pinellas county schools for 2 years as a teacher. First school put me into an involuntary transfer as a “loss of unit.” Second school fired me for being unliked and for really no reason at all. Both times the union couldn’t help me or fight for me. They did nothing for me to protect me or stand up for me. Florida law cancelled a lot of “it”out. Don’t waste your money each month putting it in the union who can’t help you as a teacher and ultimately loose your job. Nothing could be done about anything to help me in these two different situations. They couldn’t help me keep my job or protect my job. No job security.

Recently our president , Mike Gondolfo and PCTA & Joanne McCall , Executive Director, archived or took down the PCTA membership Face Book page. In addition to that, the President fired the Chairperson of the membership comm.and has halted all other membership committees to cease communication with members and discontinue any activity. Because of these actions, members do not have a venue to meet and conduct business. Many members are disappointed and frustrated with the lack of leadership by the officers and Executive Board of PCTA.
