My friend brought her young, very sick female dog to Humanitarian last week. Her dog (a sweet pit mix) had pyometra, which can be fatal if not treated immediately. When she arrived, she met Angela, a front office worker, who took immediate interest in the dog and realized she needed urgent care. After the vet examination, it was determined that, without immediate surgery the dog would die.My friend has no job and no money so she asked me to help with the payment. Angela and the staff worked hard to bring the cost down. We were able to cover the cost of the surgery to keep the dog alive. At another vet the cost would have been triple. Angela and the staff were so caring and so kind, only concerned to help the dog stay alive by providing the needed surgery immediately. The dog is doing beautifully and will live a healthy life thanks to the expertise, commitment and caring for the pets of lower income pet owners that Humanitarian provides. WE are so blessed to have them in our community. Thank you to all the staff at Humanitarians of Florida in Crystal River.

Took my 11 week old puppy to get his shots. I told the woman who came and got him that he doesn't like to be held down so Muzzle or whatever when they give him a shot he needed something because he's never been to the vet and he doesn't like being held down. She tries to scold me and tell me he's too young for that he is 11 weeks old he is a puppy!!! She ignored me took him in to get his temperature and shots the next thing I know I hear my puppy yelping and screaming and then she comes out a few minutes later telling me that my dog bit her and drew blood and that my dog has to be quarantined that animal control would be coming to my house tonight to take my dog for 10 days.

I recently had a wonderful experience yesterday when I took my cat in to get spayed. The staff were kind and informative which gave me the reassurance I needed to leave my baby in their care. The procedure was successful, no issues and I was very impressed with the surgeons work, the incision is barely noticeable and my baby is acting like nothing happened the next day! Her appetite is normal with no vomiting, she's also playful which is nice to see even though I'm making sure to keep her activity limited so she doesn't hurt herself.Thank you all for taking care of my baby! ?

I brought my dog because he appeared to have a toothache. They said they really couldn't tell until anesthetized, but they thought tartar was 4/4 even though he'd had teeth cleaned 17 months prior, and I also cleaned them periodically, too. $400 later, they said the tarter was 2/4 and no extraction necessary. I never would've put my 13 year old dog through anesthesia had I know tarter was only 2/4. I also do not like not being able to speak to a vet but only hand the dog over to a tech.
