Frank McDonough Park is a well-equipped community park located in Lighthouse Point. The park is named after a former city commissioner and mayor who served the city for 25 years. The park offers a wide range of recreational facilities, including a baseball field, football/soccer field, sand volleyball court, two racquetball courts, and nine clay tennis courts that are home to the Lighthouse Point Tennis Center. The park features a covered firefighter-themed playground with separate areas for younger and older children, as well as outdoor body-weight resistance workout equipment installed in 2020. Visitors can also find a Heroes Shrine in the northwest corner, honoring those who serve in the military and as first responders. The park is praised for its diverse amenities, catering to various age groups and interests. Reviewers highlight the fenced-in area for the smaller children's playground, providing a safe and secure environment. While the drinking fountains near the playground may need some attention, the park's restrooms and more powerful fountains near the tennis courts are available for use. With its ample parking, the park is easily accessible and offers a hub for community events and activities. Overall, Frank McDonough Park is a well-maintained and versatile recreational space that caters to the diverse needs of the Lighthouse Point community.
