I own a week here. Even though this is not a luxury resort is very nice and it has a beautiful beach. The only thing I don't like is that the maintenance keep going up and up. With the economy today is hard to keep up with the fees.

It is a hotel on the sea, about 100 rooms, quite old but remodeled inside. They are studios and apartments. one or two rooms, with everything included. Good to stay for a week or two because it is on the beach. Have you got Wi-Fi.

This resort could have been a 5 star review for the beach and sunset alone. The beach set up with the loungers and umbrellas was perfect! It was so convenient to be able to walk out of the room with just our beach towels and have everything all set up for us to relax on the beach.
Unfortunately, the first impression of the room was awful. I’m not at all sensitive to smells but we walked into a room that reeked of rotten fish, most likely from the previous guests. The air conditioning was off so it was hot in the room, and combined with the high humidity, it made the smell so bad you could almost taste it.
We let the older gentleman at front desk know, hoping he could have someone from the housekeeping staff come clean up a little better, but all he did was add a pack of baking soda to the fridge and said he didn’t smell anything, as if we had some reason to make that up.
We had to deep clean the room top to bottom but we couldn’t find the source of the smell. After leaving the windows and sliding patio door open for a few hours, it aired out and smelled slightly better, but still like the fish counter of a supermarket. It took a couple days to finally go away.
The other big negative was the bed. It’s a queen sized Murphy bed that comes down from the wall so it was very convenient to free up space in the small room but it’s soooo uncomfortable.
After the first night, we felt like we were hit by a car in the middle night. We had to go to Walmart and buy a 3” foam mattress pad which helped tremendously.
There was a small issue with a couple big roaches in the room but I didn’t take off any points for that. Hopefully they add some monthly pest control to the resort.
All in all, this review could have easily been a 5 star review if they replaced the bed, the cleaners did a better job of turning the room around between guests, and most importantly, if the front desk was retrained on what hospitality means.

Had a great time two years ago. And here we are again! Beautiful area.
Rooms: Small but clean and got the job done.
Nearby activities: Beach, pool, tennis and bike trails right out your door. Also a Public's and CVS right across the street.
Noteworthy details: Nice family place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was amazing and though the furniture was dated the place we had was large and spotless. Family friendly atmosphere and no nonsense. The only negative was the bed... not very comfortable. Even that we are looking forward to coming back.

This was my first time staying at Four Winds, and it was a pleasure. The location is beautiful, the staff was accommodating, and the rooms far exceeded my expectations. The landscaping made the beautiful pool area so inviting, and the beach was very well furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas as well.

This is a wonderful facility... clean and well maintained with such friendly personnel. The pool was immaculate and the beach less than 5 min. from our room. It's such a beautiful setting and I'd love to come back!

Meh... kind of shocking to be paying that much to not have room service more than once a week. Beautiful location, but traffic is just awful there!

Nice if you have never been to a beach/have low expectations Pros- -it is quiet -Nice that they have beach chairs and umbrellas-The pool is heated and very comfortable -Kitchen was equipped, and enjoyed having grills (and tools) on siteCons (resort)- towel exchange is only once a week from 9-12. Impractical for a family of 4 staying there.-Turn down service is only once a week (on Fri). And if you aren't staying a full week past Fri they don't even do turn down service- was never informed of this, nor does it state that in the welcome binder.-pool area closes at sunset. Who wants to use a hot tub only during the day when it is 80°? Cons (area)-Red tide. Coughing constantly- this was enough to make me not want to return.-Traffic is terrible- every day. With the exception of a few restaurants down the road you have to drive to Sarasota for everything, which is at least an hour.-the water at the beach was freezing. If you enjoy swimming in the ocean this is not the place (at least in Feb)-Got bit/tore up by sand fleas- have never had this happen at a beach in my life. For the price in maintenance fees it's not worth it to stay here.
