This is a very simple issue: I asked for an estimate.
I was involved in a relatively minor accident that left my passenger door inoperable. I took my vehicle to Caliber Collision in Lutz to obtain an estimate. I waited approximately 25 minutes before a technician acknowledged me, during which time multiple employees were visible, walking around and chatting.
Eventually, Ryan came out with a clipboard and camera, photographed the entire vehicle and the damaged area, took my business card (which includes my name, email, phone, fax, etc.), and assured me I would receive an estimate later that day.
That day passed. The week passed. The weekend passed. By Monday, I still had not received anything.
When I called on Monday to inquire, I was told they did not have my email address. I provided it again and was told the estimate would be sent.
On Tuesday, I called once more. I was immediately told Ryan had my file and was placed on hold for a “quick transfer.” After approximately three minutes on hold, the call was disconnected.
I called back and was again transferred to Ryan. He then advised me that two similar vehicles had come in that day and that he had not yet begun working on my estimate.
In the meantime, my vehicle remains largely unusable because the passenger door does not function. At this point, it is clear the estimate was simply forgotten. If the front office cannot manage basic follow-through, I have no confidence in the quality of work that would occur in the shop.
I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere. As an accident attorney who has referred at least a dozen clients to Caliber in the past, I will not be doing so again.
