Great experience at Van Dyke Commons HR Block with Ms. Shah.
I was racing to meet the April 15th deadline, had had a few bad experiences with other Tax professionals and came in not knowing what to expect. Don't worry, the good folks at this particular branch are THOROUGH professionals - they have your back!

Well, I got them done. I've become numb to how much money I have to pay in taxes each year not to mention everything day living expenses and then having the honor of donating $350.00 to H&R Block to do my taxes.
I guess H&R Block is a necessary evil for those who once took great joy in filing a paper return only to have the IRS eliminate the short forms to force people to do them online. The schedule C is too complicated so it's either hang out at the local church for hours and get them done for free by some old half blind duffer retiree or go to H&R Block and pay the price.
Time is money and my tax pro was turtle slow. He kept yawning and judging by his gigantic well invested belly, he was ready to get out of there and chow down. Blimp boy's name is Jose Machado. Avoid him at all costs.

Stay away, don't let this be the costliest and worst experience of your life!I am retired, single, with no W-2 income. I met with a so-called "tax specialist" at the St. Pete HR Block office who assured me that I could contribute the maximum amounts to both my rollover and Roth IRA's. I did... Big mistake, (apparently this is pretty basic stuff, but hey they're the experts) I spent hours over several days, not to mention penalties, unraveling the mess created by HR Block; all the while leaving messages for a manager to return my calls with no response.After their mistake I was offered an insulting, paltry discount on my invoice!Now when the Block-Heads at corporate read this scathing review, I'm sure they'll reply with their usual canned response suggesting that I contact the customer support team. Well I did, multiple times for one simple return! You can check case #'s 10838920, 11197477, 11301385.There are plenty of other tax prep companies out there, use one! Stay away from this incompetent circus.
