Food and drinks: You MUST have dinner at Hideaway Cafe!!
Noteworthy details: Some rooms are too bare bones, not enough couch room for four people to sit,( in the two bedrooms room.) Cheap broken kitchen cabinet drawers, 1 coffee mug... Needs rugs as well. Out side needs some maintenance, fresh paint would go along way , office is gross,... door to the restaurant is filthy. (Ignore it, because food is fabulous)

A very nice, small hotel with newly renovated rooms. Very friendly staff.
The breakfast is good and the evening meal is excellent.
Only recommended

Rooms: Rooms are big enough if you get the suite. King bed on Queen frame. 2 seater couch was a bit uncomfortable since it was vinyl material had some chairs also & kitchenette. They could use some new sheets as they no longer come clean & stained I had a towel with holes and another blanket w/holes. Couldn’t go outside there was an insect (No-See-Ums) kid you not that’s what they are called and they bites you up really badly in the summer months and nothing keeps them a bay.
Nearby activities: Your a drive away at a min 10 mins to the closest place to eat and any thing else
Walkability: No where really since you are away from town and no neighborhood near walking. Beach a few steps out the door but definitely not any swimming in the Ocean as water is so shallow and sand feels murky. Also seaweed not being cleaned away daily so definitely looks a bit messy. But you can always use the well maintained pool
Food and drinks: They have a simple breakfast Pancakes any fruits flavor, French toast, Bagel & cereal but whatever you ask for they will cook for you at Ala-carte prices which there is no breakfast menu just order as you go along! It’s a nice restaurant but it’s on the high end not for everyone I like the simpler foods and more local places to eat at.
Noteworthy details: Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a pet friendly place but someone let there medium white/black dog with pointy ears run loose and first day he pooped on beach close to my room nobody was with him or picked up behind him. Whatever just be aware make sure to keep Antihistamines and Cortisone with as the No-See-Ums will eat you up and it itches terribly
Not Hotel fault it’s a beach insect. It’s a quiet place but perfect to unwind and sleep at before heading to your adventures.

The hotel is in a good location on the beach and the pool is nice. There were also kayaks and SUPs that you could rent for free.
The room was not clean. In the evening there were 3 cockroaches in the room and there was leftover food in the refrigerator. The breakfast is very poor even by US standards as it was just warmed up waffles and dry, cold bagels. The service was lackluster and you didn't feel wanted.

Extremely friendly staff, always there to help you enjoy your stay. It was awesome to get the end of the day text to see if you needed anything. Excellent choice for a pet friendly vacation, we traveled with our 2 dogs and there is plenty of places to walk them and enjoy the grounds. Great pet friendly restaurants close by and a short trip across the street to sunset park provides a great end of the day experience, of course the sunrise is right at your doorstep. Great "Old Keys" vibe and the central location provides convenient day trips either direction.
Rooms: Clean and updated, thanks to hurricane Irma
Nearby activities: Sombrero beach is only a couple minute drive. The beach is also pet friendly. Island Fish company also pet friendly and solid grouper sandwich! Long Key state park is right up the road. Day trip to Key West or Bahia Honda is extremely easy.
Walkability: Bike trail directly across the street
Noteworthy details: Even if you don't go anywhere, the grounds offer a great opportunity to chill on the beach area. Having access to complimentary paddleboards, kayaks and bikes are a huge plus!

Most people only come to reviews to share the things they don’t like so I wanted to be sure to share what a positive experience we had! My husband and I just wanted a short get away so we booked a suite right off the beach area. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The views were pretty and enjoyed the privacy. The pool area was nice and clean as well. We noticed they are pet friendly so plan to return with our dog Sam. Looking forward to coming back, thanks so much for the perfect get away!

Extremely Disappointing at Rainbow Bend Resort
I booked at Rainbow Bend Resort on August 4, 2024, and it was a very disappointing experience. One of the two rooms I booked was under construction, which wasn’t disclosed beforehand. The replacement room offered didn’t meet the original booking standards.
Service was acceptable until I requested a refund. The staff member became uncooperative, claiming it was complicated due to the owner’s unavailability. I received a vague promise that I would get a full refund, but since then, the hotel has ignored all further communications.
I do not recommend this hotel.

Don’t waste your money. This is not a “resort” by any means. Rundown, dirty, dilapidated and the worst customer service. Asked for towels so we could go to pool, didn’t get them until the next day after asking 3 times. The restaurant is over priced and dirty. Our room had a leaking roof, drywall coming down from the leaks, broken/cracked windows. Charged my card 4 different amounts totaling triple the amount of the room. Definitely not worth the price or frustration.

We didn't stay at the hotel. We ate at the restaurant. Unfortunately it was understaffed.

Clean but degraded room (poor toilet paper dispenser, ceiling and wall paintings to be redone, noisy air conditioner, etc.)

If you want to stay at a place directly on the water, give this place a shot. Although the outside looks very dated, the rooms are very spacious and updated. They have paddle boards and kayaks, a fantastic restaurant on property, and the views that will take your breath away.
The staff is very friendly, and the vibes are island-like.

Although the pretty place, the room that I stayed at was horrible. The smell, it gave me allergies (smelled like pure mold). The room was not clean AT ALL the kitchen was dirty the room sheets also gave me allergies, and I found 4 bugs in the house. Also WiFi does NOT work here I had to waist my 5G. I really liked the location but if I had to pick a place to stay at again in Marathon would definitely not be here.
