Loved it! Lady at the front desk was super helpful and informative. The interactive portion was great for the little ones. It's worth the time, check it out for yourself and learn a thing or two about Marco's history.

Wonderful part of the Collier County Museums. Amazing exhibits depicting the ancient indiginous Calusa tribe with several incredibly preserved artifacts i.e. "the Key Marco Cat"There are also exhibits which chronicle the development of Marco Island over the years

We attended a homeschool field trip day at this museum. The kids enjoyed it and it was fun to see the people.dreased in costume, however, it was very crowded and because lines were long to see the characters we needed to check off our passport, the learning opportunities during the character discussions became just waiting in line for them to tell you the answers and love onto the next group. The nun character was out favorite. She was very nice, stayed in character, and really knew everything about her history and more. Very interesting and fun to visit with her. The homeschool field trip was overall a great activity. Our kids learned a lot about the history of Marco Island, enjoyed the passport, activities, and playing on the grounds after. Thank you for a great visit! We will be back with local friends on a quieter day to learn little more.

We were there back a few years ago and what a treat. To learn the true history of how Fla and it's people came to be. It is not a huge museum but it is loaded with lots of great facts information and artifacts. If visiting Marc Island ,I wouldn't miss the opportunity to see and hear the stories and history of this small but wonderful Island . I think it's a must !!

My wife and I stopped by one afternoon last week. Easy access and parking on Marco Island. Museum access is free but a contribution is recommended. Many interesting exhibits and information. Great way to spend a couple of hours.

This is one of the best museums in Florida. In a State that's often shallow and facile with regard to history and the arts, this museum suggests, with gorgeous art and outstanding dioramas and exhibits, that pre-contact life in Florida was profound and meaningful. This museum is special because the artwork is derived from many rare wooden and bone artifacts found in the area. With the help of world-class historical illustrators, especially Merald Clark, who still resides in Florida, the story of the noble and fearless Calusa comes to life. The museum is an oasis of depth, spirituality and courage that contrasts with the ugly ebbs and flows of Florida's mean-spirited and xenophobic modern political climate.

You will not want to miss this little gem on Marco Island. Beautifully done with the layout and exhibits. So interesting to learn the rich history and archaeology of Marco Island. So unexpected and glad we found this place. My fifteen-year-old grandson enjoyed it too. There was no entrance fee when we visited but donations are accepted. Highly recommend this museum.
