I just wanna say Kenny S is the man. I’ve been surfing for 20 years and still don’t fully understand how boards and their designs work 100%. Sad I know, but my surfing speaks louder haha.
He took the time to really go into detail on finding me a great step up board for FLs bigger days but still versatile enough to handle something smaller.
He was patient, knowledgeable, kind, and very professional.
Did I mention knowledgeable?
If you’re a new surfer or even an experienced go speak with Kenny and give him the opportunity to help you find the right board.
I’d drop 6 stars if I could.

I picked up a new RNF 96 and set of fins at Catalyst Melbourne Beach today and have some thoughts:
Pros of Catalyst Melbourne Beach:
-Best board selection in Central Florida (seriously, and even better than the other Catalysts too!)
-Killer location a block from the beach, great vibe and area
-Kenny is the man! Super knowledgeable and enthusiastic customer service. He'll help you find some great options without pushing you into anything.
Cons of Catalyst Melbourne Beach:
- I can't have ALL the boards
- That's it, there are no other cons.
Thanks for the help today guys, even though I live in NSB I'll be back for my next board!

Fantastic Surf Shop with Exceptional Customer Service
I've been a loyal customer of Catalyst Surf Shop for over a decade now, and they continue to impress me with their outstanding service and quality products. Recently, I purchased a new 6'2" Retro Ripper from their Cocoa location, caught up in the stoke buzz of my purchase I hastily rushed home for some good quality alone time with my new shred sled. Once home, I discovered a small ding on the tail.
I visited their Melbourne Beach location to discuss my options, unsure of what to expect. As usual, the staff at Catalyst Surf Shop (Kenny specifically) were incredibly understanding and proactive. They immediately offered to repair the board free of charge, apologized sincerely for any inconvenience caused, and assured me that they would take care of everything promptly.
True to their word, the board was professionally repaired and ready to hit the water within just a couple of days. The entire experience left me thoroughly impressed with their commitment to customer satisfaction.

I bought a pair of sunglasses that broke a month later just by holding them.. didn’t drop them.. granted they were some cheapies for 50 bucks but I think they should last more than a month. I asked if catalyst would do an exchange they said I’d have to go through the manufacturer. I get all that but as much money as they’re making, maybe they should just take into consideration, customer convenience, and just let me pick out another pair or give me some sort of proration.. so after years of shopping here, I’m not going back. They pretend to be catered to locals but it’s just another chain surf shop, if you like overpriced T-shirts and you like to advertise for free for corporations, catalyst is your spot.

Extremely disappointed with the service at this surf shop. The employees seemed completely disinterested in helping customers and were downright rude. It's disheartening to see such a lack of enthusiasm and respect for customers in a place that should be all about passion for surfing. Won't be returning anytime soon.

This place is awesome. A couple years ago I put a deposit for a surf board. I just kinda forgot about it but when I went back they honored 40 credit. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff too!

Kenny and his team earned my loyalty to frequent Catalyst! Just moved down to Melbourne and needed a new stick. Kenny put me on the bean bag which wasn’t on the radar for my quiver but it was the right choice and rides so well for the waves here.I was stoked on everyone’s passion about fishing. Go to catalyst, they’re doing it right.

Got a board here last weekend. Great place with new and used boards. Also great price! Got just the type of board I was looking pretty lightly used for 150 bucks! Staff was friendly and very helpful. My new surf spot is right out front so I'll definitely be back!
