Books-A-Million in Melbourne, FL is a large store with something for everyone, offering a great and expansive selection of books, magazines, manga, collectibles, and gifts. Customers find a wide selection for just about every genre, from bestsellers and timeless classics to autographed editions. The store also has much more, including Loungefly backpacks, themed toys, collectibles, and stuffies. The atmosphere is friendly and the store is described as super nice, located within a large shopping center. A Joe Muggs Coffee shop is inside, where one can enjoy a strawberry frappe. The store has recovered well after a period during COVID when magazine stock was reduced; now the stands and aisles are again full, diverse, and interesting. However, a common complaint is that staff at the register will try to push customers to sign up for magazines, which can lead to a headache and almost getting charged up the wazoo unless one stands firm and declines. Additionally, a manager was observed berating an employee in earshot of customers in a nasty tone, which negatively impacted the experience despite the employee providing amazing customer service with outstanding enthusiasm.
Publix has great fresh fruit and vegetables. Very clean and great varieties of fresh food.

Overall, there are a lot of novelty items and a decent selection of books and magazines. Unfortunately, after visiting this location four times, I haven’t purchased a single book because I’ve noticed the same titles are considerably cheaper on Amazon.
