The worst lenders and the worst employees. These people are the worst. They made me believe they would approve the loan. My client made their deposit at the title company and signed the package, so we thought that day or the next day they would release the money. Well, that didn't happen. After four days of waiting for the money, which was the last step, and after they promised that they had already reviewed everything and it was correct, that they were ready to release the money, well, guess what happened? They asked for another week, my transaction fell through, and the seller's realtor was outraged by the mistreatment and lack of communication from these people. They give false hope and have no communication with anyone. Roberto Jimenez and Sandra Valvano handled my loan, and their communication was so terrible that I eventually stopped trying because days went by and they didn't respond to emails. When Roberto Jimenez rarely replied, he did so rudely, and Sandra Valvano was practically invisible. Stay away from this bank. They made life miserable for the buyer, seller, realtor, title company, etc.

Stay away from this company. Their work is terrible, their communication and customer service are even worse. They worked with my clients, giving them false hope and even sending the package, but they never disbursed the funds. Supposedly, the loan was under review, which is why they hadn't released it yet. After much insistence, they said it had passed the review and that they would fund it the next day. Well, that didn't happen, and my loan fell through. The title company was shocked. They told me that in 25 years of work, nothing like this had ever happened, since my client had made their full deposit and signed everything. Not to mention how rude the person who handled the loan, Roberto Jimenez, was. He was so ill-mannered that he kept telling us not to call him anymore because he wasn't going to answer. He and Sandra Valvano, whom we contacted daily in an email group, didn't even respond to an update, and when they rarely did, it was with... Arrogance and lying were the worst experience we've ever had. Don't fall for their lies. Robert Jimenez and Sandra Valvano are the worst: rude, liars, no communication skills, and completely disrespectful. I don't know how they can have employees like that.

Was on the selling side of a deal that they totally dropped. They promised the buyer approval and couldn’t make it work with a lender AFTER extending the contract. They moved to another lender in there “network” told the buyer it would get approved and the day before closing told us they couldn’t make the deal work. Danny the “Luchador Team manager” was AWFUL. He told me not to call anymore, lead the buyer on, and the worst communicator. Stay far away from this company and the “Luchador Team”

I learned about Obsidian Mortgage through a family friend, so glad that I did! I reached out, and initially spoke with Ray Moatz, he was very professional, helpful, and friendly—I was immediately put at ease taking the big step to purchase a residence. Norma Rodriguez was so helpful she made everything so easy for me and was clear, and Holly Rosa was equally great. I can’t say enough about Obsidian Mortgage, they made what I thought was impossible for me so very possible and I am a proud owner!! I give them five STARS all around!

If you are new to the industry, do NOT sign with Obsidian. You will not be trained. I've asked numerous times for help. Don't waste your time. Use another company. l

STAY AS FAR AWAY POSSIBLE FROM THIS FRAUDULENT MALICIOUS COMPANY!!!!!!If you’re planning on purchasing a home they will take over 60 days to close.If they reached out to get hired they will NOT pay you as a Loan Officer. Please do your Due Diligence and research as much as you can on NMLS Consumer Access.They owe me close to 20K and would promise week after week for 2+ months the check was coming. I was patient with them for as long as i could but enough is enough.When I ran out of groceries and had no money because of them not paying me I asked them if they can direct me to a local food bank, and they said to go talk to Joel Osteen. I can’t make this up.I don’t see this company existing by the end of this calendar year and I PRAY that’s the case.They don’t deserve to have their Lending License active and should DEFINITELY be investigated IMMEDIATELY.My GAWD just please stay away from this company.

I am self-employed and I have purchased property in several states with several different banks . With my tax structure, loan approval is usually a drawn out and painful process. I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly the process went with Obsidian. Jacob B. gave me a variety of options. Everything went well. I plan to use them again next time.

Have been trying to get an escrowed insurance payment for over a month from this company and I cannot get a single person to return a phone call, email or chat message. Please be advised that this company seems to be willing to take money, but seems incapable of servicing a mortgage at all.UPDATE: I was finally able to get a return phone call from Mr. Brown. All it took was multiple phone calls, multiple emails, and failed chat function on the Obsidian website. I am upgrading from 1 star, to 2 stars due to Mr. Brown finally reaching out to me with updated information.
