I learned about Obsidian Mortgage through a family friend, so glad that I did! I reached out, and initially spoke with Ray Moatz, he was very professional, helpful, and friendly—I was immediately put at ease taking the big step to purchase a residence. Norma Rodriguez was so helpful she made everything so easy for me and was clear, and Holly Rosa was equally great. I can’t say enough about Obsidian Mortgage, they made what I thought was impossible for me so very possible and I am a proud owner!! I give them five STARS all around!

STAY AS FAR AWAY POSSIBLE FROM THIS FRAUDULENT MALICIOUS COMPANY!!!!!!If you’re planning on purchasing a home they will take over 60 days to close.If they reached out to get hired they will NOT pay you as a Loan Officer. Please do your Due Diligence and research as much as you can on NMLS Consumer Access.They owe me close to 20K and would promise week after week for 2+ months the check was coming. I was patient with them for as long as i could but enough is enough.When I ran out of groceries and had no money because of them not paying me I asked them if they can direct me to a local food bank, and they said to go talk to Joel Osteen. I can’t make this up.I don’t see this company existing by the end of this calendar year and I PRAY that’s the case.They don’t deserve to have their Lending License active and should DEFINITELY be investigated IMMEDIATELY.My GAWD just please stay away from this company.

I am self-employed and I have purchased property in several states with several different banks . With my tax structure, loan approval is usually a drawn out and painful process. I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly the process went with Obsidian. Jacob B. gave me a variety of options. Everything went well. I plan to use them again next time.

Have been trying to get an escrowed insurance payment for over a month from this company and I cannot get a single person to return a phone call, email or chat message. Please be advised that this company seems to be willing to take money, but seems incapable of servicing a mortgage at all.UPDATE: I was finally able to get a return phone call from Mr. Brown. All it took was multiple phone calls, multiple emails, and failed chat function on the Obsidian website. I am upgrading from 1 star, to 2 stars due to Mr. Brown finally reaching out to me with updated information.

I have been in the banking & financial services industry for 32 years and started to work at Obsidian in 2017, mostly doing some IT consulting work. I stayed on because as I learned more and more about the company and worked with the owner, and I found that most of the negative things I heard were not true, and that their main goal was to build a business that would allow their employees to make the best margins in the industry while taking care of their clients. I have loved my position with the company and only wish I had started sooner. I am not just saying this as a employee, I am saying it as a man whose own son and other family members have achieved their dreams of home ownership through Obsidian. Sure, there are other lenders out there, but when you get to know the people at Obsidian, you grow to understand they are not just building a company they really care deeply about their employees and customers. If you are a Loan Officer and looking for a career where you can be your own boss and make money, this is the last career stop you will need to make.

Worked with Marcus through this company. Lost over 15k from this company and 7 months in escrow to buy a home they couldn’t close.EDIT: in response to the company’s response below. No it didn’t close on your end because your company took 7 months in escrow. Deadlines not met, things not submitted. Terrible time response and communication from your company. Don’t try to put the blame on anyone else. It doesn’t take 7 months to determine if someone qualifies for a home. What does take 7 months with no results and money loss is this company

I heard about this place and I was going to hire them. but im the kind of person i like to do some research before give my information to people or "companies" so i keep browsing and browsing and i find out, the guy who work there is not the best plus his sister is his secretary now, and its look does she have criminal record also, i dont know you guys but i will never give my info to this place if they hire this kind of people.
