Edit - owner claims refund was pending but that is not what staff communicates over the phone or what bank statement shows.
Scam alert! Stopped at this store to buy bait last weekend. Paid for six dozen shrimp. Gladly tipped the cashier, too. Took the boat out to fish only to find out that the guy put at most 2 dozen live shrimp in my bucket yet charged for six. How would you feel if you spent over $600 to rent a boat, paid as expected for all to find out you got cheated like that? I can understand shorting a customer by a few shrimp but come on!! Called afterwards to complain, spoke to two associates (Anthony & Daniel), but the overcharge was not refunded. Apparently, you have to be present in person for a refund. How is that easy for someone who lives 100 miles away?
Also, the website has a pricing sheet and shows the price of live shrimp at $3.75 a dozen. I asked one of the associates why do they charge over $6 for live bait. The answer...uhhh yeah we have not updated that, and yeah we have not but we should, but we have not. Well....update it so people don't waste their time!!! Plenty of local store sell shrimp for less and will give the customer what they paid for.

Terrible I bought shiners there put them right into my cooler with my aerator within one hour. They started dying before I even threw them in the water. I called over there the next morning. Left a message for somebody to please call me nobody ever bothered to call me.. Wild shiners should not die within one hour he told me he just got them in.

Can't really say enough good things abought Riggs Outpost. I bought my first surf reel here in 2019. Anthony Marks was working that night, as he was on Monday when we stopped in. They carry my favo6braid, Truebraid, and a slough of quality baits made locally.
The seafood shop has a ton of options as well, and the fish dip is great. Not overly mayors, as some fishdips can be, and a great smokey flavor.
These folks really know what they are doing, and it's clear Anthony loves what he does.

Got there yesterday at 7:25 pm me and my 12-year-old son. I usually did not write reviews but we went in to buy new line and possibly a new pole and I asked the worker if he could help us, I would even tip him $20 to put our line and I also was going to buy some bait as well, for me and my son. we are out of town on vacation visiting my mother, we are just trying to have some fun fishing. But I feel like whoever this guy’s boss is, needs to be aware of this. I am in general manager myself, and if my employees were to not help a customer, Especially if they were going to make a sale too an hour and 15 minutes before closing, they would be fired!!!!! Is a cute place very nice and clean and is kept up very well

Long hair guy that works there will over charge people from out of town. Paid 10 for bait came back two days later he charged me 20. Shop other places not good business
